5 WWE Superstars who could surprisingly stay in WWE

AEW - the best thing happened in wrestling?

Well, that's a question remained to be answered as right now, it would be unfair to blindly support them. However, for some Superstars, AEW has become their new home. Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks have a great opportunity to build All Elite as the prominent wrestling promotion that can compete with WWE.

Moreover, what could be a better way to dethrone them than taking their Superstars away? After all, they have made WWE what it is today. Without Steve Austin, The Rock or Triple H, Vince McMahon may have lost the Monday Night Wars to WCW and that would have marked the end of his company.

Fortunately for him, it didn't happen. The McMahon-led promotion is still thriving, now as a billion dollar company. McMahon understands the importance of his talents and since AEW has also stepped into this game, it wouldn't be shocking if the chairman of WWE tries to refrain his stars from joining the rival promotion.

Unhappy with their booking, some WWE Superstars want to leave for AEW as they see it as a great opportunity to revive their careers. However, some aren't interested in working for Tony Khan and are happy with what WWE offers them and here are five Superstars who can be expected to extend their stay in WWE.

#5 Rusev

Rusev might not leave WWE and join AEW anytime soon

WWE didn't capitalize when Rusev Day was a thing. Now, it's dead and buried. Although Vince did try experimenting with his gimmick the Superstar’s engagement news might have enraged the boss, and thus, putting an end to his push. Rusev Day became famous on its own but due to WWE's lack of trust in The Bulgarian Brute, they didn't take the benefit of it.

Since then, the fans have been advising Rusev to leave WWE and return to the independent circuit. And since AEW's arrival, everyone is pushing for it.

Replying to a fan, who asked Rusev to joining AEW, he said this:

As far as one can see, the former US Champion isn’t pleased with the idea of him joining AEW.

#4 Shinsuke Nakamura

The Japanese Superstar might not work for AEW as he gets paid well by WWE

In the latest WWE NEWS, Shinsuke Nakamura was one of the best wrestlers in NXT. When WWE announced Nakamura's arrival on SmackDown Live, fans had huge expectations from both parties. However, having failed to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 34, the fans were left disappointed.

While the problem isn't with Nakamura's wrestling or speaking skills, WWE could have resolved the issue by giving him a manager which they failed to do. Despite fans cheering for the Japanese Superstar, Vince never saw the potential in him.

It's one of the reasons why Nakamura doesn't even appear on WWE television, right now. However, as per Dave Meltzer, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion is no longer interested in fighting.

He has already achieved a lot more than what people would have expected and now he wants to have fun with his family. Yes, Nakamura is still contracted with WWE but only to collect pensions.

It is expected that once Nakamura's new WWE contract ends, he might call it a day and spend the rest of his life with his family. However, that could only happen after five years, as the 39-year old wants to continue wrestling until he turns 45.

#3 Randy Orton

Randy Orton got another massive victory against Triple H at WWE Super ShowDown

Once famous as The Legend Killer, Orton is no longer the Superstar we once saw and has almost changed completely. He is a 13-time WWE Champion but seeing him in television now often make us overlook it. A Superstar with multiple World Championship victories is now lost in the shuffle.

In the midst of February, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com revealed that Orton is willing to talk with AEW about a contract. Till this date, however, nothing has happened. Orton even defeated Triple H in their bout in Saudi Arabia.

When Mark Henry appeared on Busted Open Radio, he called Orton a "good businessman", which is true. The Viper has always done what's best for him and his legacy, a reason which could be the reason why he is still in WWE.

Vince McMahon understands he is still a big name but the 39-year old Superstar is already past his prime and it wouldn't be shocking if he decides to take a backseat and see where the path takes him.

#2 Andrade

Former NXT Champion Andrade joined WWE in 2015 and since then, has gone through many transformations. From a lavishing champion, he has converted into a forgettable mid-carder. Officially assigned to the SmackDown roster, the Mexican Superstar has provided high-profile matches with almost everyone he has worked with.

Some reports also suggested that Andrade is unhappy with his treatment in WWE and he could be looking for a way out. Things haven't changed a lot since then but now, Andrade is getting decent push by WWE. However, it isn't the only reason for him to continue working for Vince.

In case you don't know, Charllote and Andrade are currently dating and it's why WWE drafted him to SmackDown a week later they send him to Raw. And reports say The Queen requested WWE to move Andrade to the blue brand. Both are happy together which could be a reason for him staying in WWE.

#1 Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow is no longer the biggest female in WWE

Asuka had an impressive winning streak in the modern WWE history. She was undefeated for 914 days and it all started in NXT, where Triple H and Co. went all out pushing the Japanese Superstar.

The Empress of Tomorrow won the 2018 Royal Rumble match and challenged Charlotte for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34. Fans expected her to defeat The Queen and become a champion but WWE had other plans for her. Asuka lost her winning streak and her momentum plunged down.

Since then, she became a mid-carder and despite fans being behind her, WWE hesitates to push her. When Asuka beat Becky Lynch at Royal Rumble, fans thought WWE has started taking her seriously but soon, the former lost her title to Charlotte.

However, it doesn't mean that she wants to leave WWE. In 2018, rumors stated that Asuka quit WWE out of frustration following SummerSlam but it proved to be false. The former women’s champion isn’t unhappy with her treatment in Vince McMahon’s company and it’s likely that she will retire here.
