5 WWE superstars Vince McMahon won't want to leave for AEW

Brock Lesnar vs Chris Jericho, in AEW?

AEW has taken the wrestling world by storm. With signings of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Shawn Spears, they are already a step ahead of the game. Though many fans wouldn't believe it. It's clear that Cody Rhodes isn't interested in signing substantial amount of WWE Superstars except the ones that would significantly benefit the company.

WWE at the moment, I’d say 5% of the current makeup, and that may increase but right now it’s a lot of faces you’ve never seen and a lot of faces you’ll be surprised when you do see. (Credits to 411Mania for the quotes)

Their roster has, as of this writing, more than 50 wrestlers and it will increase in the future. And since AEW is going to compete with WWE, it wouldn't be shocking if they try to sign some of the top dogs of Vince McMahon. Here is a list of 5 WWE Superstars that Vince wouldn't let leave for All Elite.

#5 Brock Lesnar

Is it even possible that Vince McMahon would ever let Brock Lesnar leave for another wrestling promotion?

The Beast is a wrestler with a decent record in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Even though these two sports are completely different (well, technically) Vince has refrained him from leaving WWE and working for UFC, many times. Despite rumors indicating the possibility of Lesnar vs Daniel Cormier in UFC, the alleged fight didn't happen. And Vince could have played a role.

In 2018, the former Universal Champion didn't leave WWE after WrestleMania, Greatest Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and even after Crown Jewel and that's because he received a hefty check from Vinnie Mac.

Speaking to ESPN's Marc Raimondi, Cormier, believing the same as me, said this:

I think when Brock looked at the landscape of the sport, what they were offering him, Brock said, 'I can make guaranteed money [in WWE].' Not work as hard. He'd have to work his ass off [to fight me] and it's probably gonna go the bad way. Whereas with the WWE, it's usually determined in his favor. So, as a businessman, I think Brock made the right decision.

Vince’s urge to stop Lesnar from joining the UFC has made it clear that the chairman of WWE would spend some more money to prevent him from joining AEW. After all, he knows the 41-year old wrestler’s AEW debut would break his bank.

#4 Lio Rush

WWE are reportedly not allowing anyone to leave their company, at the moment. Lio Rush is one of them. He asked for his release after he gained backstage heat but the company doesn't seem to liberate him anytime soon. The rumor also suggests that officials even considered sending him to NXT but The One rejected their orders and asked for a release instead.

It's clear that both parties aren't happy with each other and are looking for a solution. As long as Rush is still under contract with WWE, Vince wouldn't release him because he might come back to bite him in the future. Things are still hot between them and it might not end soon, considering the locker room is also unhappy with Rush.

The 24-year old Superstar has also rejected a five-year deal from WWE which indicates that he would leave WWE once the time comes. But until then, he would have to provide his services to this billion dollar company.

#3 The Revival

The Revival could leave WWE next April

In February, many Superstars asked for their release and The Revival were one of them. And their request, too, was rejected by the company and they asked three months to improve things. The next thing we know is that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder are the new Raw Tag Team Champions but their reign shortly comes to an end. After which, they become jobbers (or lower-mid carders).

Those who see Raw wouldn't believe that The Revival was the best tag team of NXT but that was under Triple H's wings. Since debuting on the main roster, Dawson and Wilder haven't done anything significant and it's one of the reasons why they want to leave WWE. But since WWE don't want them to be gone, this couldn't happen. They are still contracted to WWE until next April and it would be interesting to see if Vince would ever let the duo bounce back.

#2 Luke Harper

2018 proved to be an amazing year for Luke Harper as he became tag team champions with Erick Rowan as a part of The Bludgeon Brothers. However, a wrist injury caused him to miss months of in-ring action. Earlier this year, the doctors cleared Harper to wrestler but still, WWE waited until WrestleMania 35 to use him. The former champion returned at Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal which is reportedly a reason of his heat with Vince McMahon.

As per reports, the WWE’s CEO didn't like the way Harper wrestled in the match and it's why he canceled everything the creative team had planned for him. Sometime later, the former Intercontinental Champion asked for his release and announced the same publicly, which added insult to the injury. WWE said no to his appeal and as a punishment they also extended his contract till next year's WrestleMania 36. Harper is trying hard to return to WWE programming but since Vince "hates" him, it almost impossible.

#1 Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks reportedly quit WWE following WrestleMania 35, where she lost her Women's Tag Team Championships to The IIconics. Since then, The Boss hasn't appeared on WWE television and it seemed like she is never going to return. However, new rumors suggest that Vince had a meeting with her and it is believed that everything is resolved between WWE and Sasha. And she could return to the ring soon.

The 4-time Raw Women's Champion is one of the best female Superstars WWE has right now and it’s unlikely that Vince will let her leave easily. As of writing, it isn't clear when The Boss will return to WWE but we can expect that whenever she returns, WWE will waste no time pushing her as they did at one point.

Which one of these Superstars is likely to leave WWE soon? Have your say in the comments below.
