5 WWE Superstars Who Are Also Real-Life Superheroes

WWE Superstars to the rescue!
WWE Superstars to the rescue!

In WWE, we see two types of wrestlers. One is a babyface (a hero) and the other is a heel (a villain). John Cena, for instance, is one of WWE's biggest faces of all time whereas Vince McMahon, in my opinion, is a great example of a pure heel.

Being a heel or a face isn’t a piece of cake. A lot of work and commitment is required to work as a top star in WWE. And even though everything in WWE is merely entertainment, today’s kids often see face wrestlers as their heroes and heels as villains.

It is also a reason why most of the time face wrestlers do enormous things in WWE. However, being a hero isn’t just a role a wrestler plays as in many instances; WWE Superstars have proved that they are not just heroes in sports entertainment but also in real life.

In this article, we will take a look at 5 WWE Superstars who are also real-life life heroes.

#5 Shawn Daivari

A majority of the WWE remember Shawn Daivari for playing a controversial character in WWE alongside Muhammad Hassan. His gimmick quickly became one of the most hated in WWE and even though the fans don’t see him as their hero, he still is one of them. In 2005, UPN requested the WWE obeyed them.

Daivari then managed Kurt Angle for some time and then The Great Khali. The fans didn’t really like him but in 2012, he gained the attention of media when he chocked a passenger who was threatening to kill everyone on a train. The situation became tensed and then Daivari used his wrestling skills to calm the situation down.

He chocked the drunken passenger and made him unconscious and handed him to the cops who were informed by other passengers sitting in the train.

#4 Mr. Perfect

Even though “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig is no longer with us, his legacy will live forever. He is not only one of the best Intercontinental Champions of the WWE but also a real-life hero.

He passed away in 2003 and after 4 years of that incident, he got inducted to the Hall Of Fame class by his close friend Wade Boggs. Following the induction, a DVD named “The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect” was released where the Red Sox legend recalled one particular moment when Hennig saved his life.

In 2001, during a hunting trip, Boggs' leg was intertwined in barbed wire fence which seriously damaged and disabled it for some time.

However, Curt acted quickly and untangled his friend's leg and took him to the nearest medical facility which saved Boggs’ life. The former Intercontinental Champion did things with perfection and maybe it is why he is known as Mr. Perfect.

#3 John Cena

WWE’s biggest draw of the PG Era, John Cena genuinely deserves to be in this list. He has done a lot of great things in and outside the ring and it is why he is one of the most favoured superstars of youngsters.

Till this date, John Cena has granted over 500+ wishes through Make-A-Wish foundation and he also holds a record for it. It doesn't matter if he receives tons of boos from the crowd or not, a majority of kids sees him as a superhero. And, in truth, he deserves this title.

He is currently busy with his Hollywood projects and even though he has a tight schedule, Cena still does a lot of meets and greets with his fans. This only proves how much he respects and cares for his fans.

CM Punk left WWE and pro wrestling more than 4 years ago but fans still chant his name. Punk, undoubtedly, has done many great things in the WWE and it is true that his Pipebomb promo had an effect on the current WWE product.

In 2012, WWE released his documentary named ‘CM PUNK: BEST IN THE WORLD’ where we got to know a lot of things about him. One of those things was that he once saved his friend Joey Mercury’s life.

The documentary revealed that at one point, Joey was dealing with Drugs and Alcohol and his problems got him released by the WWE. He then revealed that his house was being foreclosed as he also had some money issues but then Punk bought his house and also loaned him some money to survive.

However, the story didn’t end here. Punk then brought Mercury back to the WWE as a part of Straight Edge Society which really helped with financially. Even after Punk’s departure from WWE, Mercury continued to work in the company.

#1 Bray Wyatt

Currently, fans are screaming for Bray Wyatt’s return. Recently, his tag team partner Matt Hardy returned to the ring to reunite The Hardy Boyz and it’s clear that Wyatt will now return alone.

According to some rumors, Wyatt is ready to return soon to WWE television but with a character change. The Eater of Worlds may have become irrelevant in the past few months but his work outside the ring will be remembered by everyone.

At one point, Wyatt and JTG (along with Alex Riley and Big E) were driving on the ride when suddenly a car nearly collided with them. Wyatt and JTG were okay but then they decided to chase and teach those wrongdoers a physical lesson.

However, during the chase, the culprit’s car landed upside down and then started to smoke. Without wasting any more time, Wyatt and JTG took them out of that car and informed 911. The former WWE Champion also told JTG to never disclose this story to anyone because he didn’t want any attention from the media. This whole story was discussed in JTG’s book ‘Damn! Why Did I Write This Book Too: How to Play The Game’.
