AEW has been making a lot of headway recently due to its focus on wrestling and treatment of all of its Superstars.

Many former WWE superstars like Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose), Shawn Spears (formerly known as Tye Dillinger), Awesome Kong (formerly known as Kharma), Chris Jericho, Cody (formerly known as Cody Rhodes and Stardust), Dustin Rhodes (formerly known as Goldust), Tommy Dreamer, Billy Gunn, and Leva Bates (formerly known as Blue Pants who briefly competed in NXT) have already made appearances and/or have signed with AEW.

Several WWE Superstars like Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Mike Kanellis, Maria Kanellis, Mojo Rawley, the Usos, the Hardy Boys, and Jinder Mahal have recently signed new WWE contracts that last for up to five years.

Other top superstars like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, The New Day, The Miz, Kevin Owens, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Drew McIntyre are unlikely to leave the company any time soon; other Superstars might.

#5 EC3

EC3 was announced along with several other NXT call ups as a part of WWE's New Era in December 2018 alongside Heavy Machinery, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross, and Lars Sullivan. While the other five NXT call ups have all found their place on WWE's main roster, EC3 is yet to do so.

After his first appearance, EC3 spent weeks just standing still doing nothing and not saying a single word. Things looked to be going up for the Top One Percenter when he defeated Dean Ambrose in his Monday Night Raw debut.

However, he was defeated by Dean Ambrose the next week before flirting with Mandy Rose on the Fastlane Kickoff Show.

Since then, EC3 has been relegated to Main Event where he goes 50/50 with Superstars like Tyler Breeze and Titus O'Neil. EC3 was quickly eliminated from the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35, was destroyed by Braun Strowman, and was the first Superstar removed from the 50-man battle royal at Super Showdown.

While EC3 did briefly win the 24/7 Championship, other Superstars like Heath Slater, Titus O'Neil, and even 205 Live general manager Drake Maverick have held that title. The Top One Percenter is frustrated by his booking which could cause him to want to look for new pastures.

EC3 showed a lot of potential as a top Superstar on NXT and Impact. His excellent mic skills and respectable wrestling ability could prove an asset to a company like AEW. He can compete against some of the best Superstars in the world and possibly start a tag team with a heel that is very similar to him in MJF.

#4 Lio Rush

Lio Rush has been known to have issues with professionalism.
Lio Rush has been known to have issues with professionalism.

Lio Rush disappeared from WWE television as Bobby Lashley's manager shortly after WrestleMania 35 because he had issues with WWE.

The Man of the Hour has problems with the fact that he is not included in meet and greets with Bobby Lashley, is not paid for merchandise with his catchphrases on it, and has to pay for hotels and rental cars even though he is not paid enough to do so.

He is also not popular with the locker room due to his insistence upon having his wife wherever he goes, his insensitive comments about Emma's release, and the fact that he does not partake in locker room traditions.

No matter what many may believe about Lio Rush's professionalism issues, no one can deny that he is an incredibly talented wrestler with excellent in-ring ability and mic skills. He could become a top Superstar in AEW.

The fact that they provide health care for wrestlers would likely attract Lio Rush to want to join the company who would undoubtedly want to sign him due to his in-ring ability.

#3 Harper

Harper was formerly known as Luke Harper.
Harper was formerly known as Luke Harper.

Harper has accomplished a few things in WWE including winning the Intercontinental Championship, the NXT and the SmackDown Tag Team Titles alongside Rowan and the team of Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton. However, he has not been used to his full potential as a singles Superstar.

Despite having standout performances against superstars like John Cena, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and even bringing out a respectable performance out of Jinder Mahal, he still has not been given an opportunity.

There was a time in which the entire WWE Universe wanted him to compete for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 33, and the opportunity was not given to him.

After years of dealing with some frustrating booking, Harper respectively requested his release and publicized that request in a post on social media in which he thanked WWE for the experience.

Not only did WWE deny his request, but they also ignored him afterwards, and refused to use him at all, and added six months to his contract from a time that he was injured.

When Harper's contract eventually expires around WrestleMania 36, there is no chance that he will resign with the company.

AEW will want to sign a talented big man like Harper, who can operate as a monster heel or a fan favorite while Harper will strive in a company that focuses more on wrestling.

#2 The Revival

These two superstars are currently Raw Tag Team Champions.
These two superstars are currently Raw Tag Team Champions.

The Revival requested their release from WWE in their ring gear earlier this year after dealing with frustrating booking decisions for months.

D-Generation X buried them on RAW 25, made to look like idiots when barely losing against the B-Team, and suffered multiple losses to Lucha House Party thanks to the Lucha House Rules.

After that, WWE gave them two Raw Tag Team Title reigns in which they were barely featured on WWE television or pay-per-view and when they did would be defeated in non-title matches. They also had to deal with the embarrassing segments with The Usos as punishment for not re-signing with the company.

There is no doubt that these two Superstars will be leaving when their contracts expire because they don't care about publicly complaining about the company and recently declined a five-year contract in which they would each get $500,000 per year.

When they do leave, they will be offered a lucrative deal from AEW where they will be treated as the premier tag team that they are and can finally have that dream showdown with the Young Bucks.

#1 Rusev and Lana

Rusev and Lana used to be the best superstar/manager duo in WWE.
Rusev and Lana used to be the best superstar/manager duo in WWE.

Rusev has been one of the most underutilized WWE Superstars of the current era. He started strong with an undefeated streak that was ended by John Cena.

Things only went downhill from then although he experienced a resurgence thanks to the popularity of Rusev Day.

However, WWE did not embrace Rusev's popularity and pushed him to the moon like they should have and just turned him heel.

While Lana is not as much of an accomplished singles star as Rusev, she has not been given a chance to improve as she barely wrestles.

Lana has only competed in two matches this year so far. While she is no Charlotte Flair or Asuka, she has shown improvement when given a chance to do so.

Neither of these superstars has appeared on WWE television in weeks due to Rusev requesting a leave of absence due to booking frustrations. The contract of the Bulgarian Brute is set to expire, and Lana will likely follow him wherever he goes.

AEW will undoubtedly want to sign a superstar like Rusev as he would be their most high profile signing since the signing of Jon Moxley and he is incredibly talented due to his charisma, mic skills, and in-ring ability.

Rusev and Lana are also incredibly popular as a duo, and the company would benefit from having more husband/wife duos beside Cody and Brandi Rhodes.
