7 active male wrestlers with the best win-loss ratio at Survivor Series

Unlike the past three years, where Raw superstars would face SmackDown superstars for brand supremacy, this years’ edition of Survivor Series also features Superstars from NXT. The black and gold brand instantly made a statement on the November 1st episode of SmackDown proving they’ll be a threat at Survivor Series. This includes Shayna Baszler laying out three of the SmackDown's women's roster including the champion, Bayley, whilst Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole got clean victories over former World Champions, The Miz and Daniel Bryan respectively. At the end of the episode, the brainchild behind NXT, Triple H, declared a war on the other shows and vowed his wrestlers will win the Survivor Series brand warfare. The NXT Superstars proved themselves again when they showed up to Raw and brawled with the entire locker room.

On top of the traditional Survivor Series matches, the pay-per-view now gives us potential matches between the brands respective champions such as Becky Lynch, Bayley and Shayna Baszler or between The Viking Raiders, The Revival and The Undisputed Era in triple threat matches where all would want to prove that they are the champion among champions and also walking away with the bragging rights.

Whilst there is a stacked roster from all three shows that will be desperate to represent their brand, there are only a small handful of active wrestlers whose previous performances at the pay-per-view have proved that time and time again they are able to win at Survivor Series.

#7 The Undertaker 13-5 (72.22%)

The Undertaker won his first eight matches at the Survivor Series pay-per-view
The Undertaker won his first eight matches at the Survivor Series pay-per-view

Despite WrestleMania will always be associated with the streak that The Undertaker had for over two decades, Survivor Series is also a big part of The Undertaker’s career for a number of reasons. Not only was his official on-camera debut in the WWE at the event back in 1990, where he won the 4-on-4 Survivor Series Elimination with The Million Dollar Team, but he’d win his first World Championship in the company a year later when he beat Hulk Hogan.

In fact, The Undertaker had a streak of his own at Survivor Series as he won his first eight matches including single-handedly eliminating all of his opponents in the 4-on-4 Survivor Series elimination match in 1995.

Whilst The Undertaker has had a number of Survivor Series elimination matches at the titular pay-per-view, he’s also had a number of coffin/casket/buried alive matches giving a whole new meaning to the term ‘Survivor’.

Despite not being in the WWE Draft this year, The Undertaker remains on the WWE website as an active wrestler, with his most recent match happening in July at Extreme Rules where he teamed with Roman Reigns to beat Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in a No Holds Barred match. If The Undertaker does compete in this years’ Survivor Series, both Raw and SmackDown would do anything to have him represent their brand.

#6 Dolph Ziggler 7-2 (77.77%)

Ziggler has a Survivor Series record he can show off
Ziggler has a Survivor Series record he can show off

Originally appearing as Nicky from the Spirit Squad, Dolph Ziggler first appeared at Survivor Series back in 2006, when Team Spirit Squad would go on to lose against Team WWE Legends, led by Ric Flair. It would take three years before Ziggler would return to Survivor Series, but this time, ended up being part of a winning team, when Team Miz defeated Team Morrison in a 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination match.

Ziggler would go on to successfully defend both the Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship in the following years against Kaval and John Morrison respectively. Ziggler would continue to have more success at Survivor Series in 2012, when he became the sole survivor of the Survivor Series match, getting two eliminations in the process. He would repeat this feat in 2014 when he was the sole survivor again, this time getting three eliminations, and ousting The Authority from power in the process.

Despite Ziggler had another blemish at Survivor Series 2015 against Tyler Breeze in a singles match, he would go on to redeem himself by being part of the winning Survivor Series Team again in 2018 when Team Raw defeated Team SmackDown.

Taking into account Ziggler has won seven of his nine matches at Survivor Series, he should be among the top choices for SmackDown going into this years’ Survivor Series.

#5 John Cena 9-2 (81.81%)

John Cena has survived many a war at the pay-per-view
John Cena has survived many a war at the pay-per-view

It should be no surprise that record-sharing sixteen time World Champion John Cena has a good win-loss ratio at Survivor Series with one of his championship reigns coming from the pay-per-view when he pinned Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2008.

John Cena’s first appearance at Survivor Series was back in 2003, where he was part of Team Angle and got the decisive pin fall against Team Lesnar in a Survivor Series Elimination match. He would go on to be a survivor again in 2004 and get the decisive pinfall in 2006. On top of this, he has notched up additional victories successfully defending both the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship.

Despite Cena last wrestling in WWE back in January this year and is unlikely to be featured in this years’ Survivor Series, the fact remains he is still an active wrestler on WWE’s website. Furthermore, considering Cena is not currently represented by any brand and was a surprise competitor in his last appearance at the pay-per-view in 2017, there’s a possible chance he could show up again and any brand would do anything to have him represent them.

#4 and #3 Gallows and Anderson – 2-0 (100%)

Gallows and Anderson are the only active tag team who has never lost at Survivor Series
Gallows and Anderson are the only active tag team who has never lost at Survivor Series

Prior to coming to the WWE as a tag-team in 2016, Gallows and Anderson were no strangers to each other, having won the IWGP Tag Team Championship on multiple occasions. This should make it no surprise that Gallows and Anderson are also the only active tag-team in the WWE that have an unblemished record at Survivor Series.

Whilst 10-on-10 Survivor Series Tag Team elimination matches are not as common as the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match, Gallows and Anderson have participated when they do come about, and have proved to be an effective tag team representing their brand.

They first appeared together at Survivor Series in 2016 representing Team Raw, where they eliminated The Hype Bros and American Alpha, ultimately leading to Team Raw winning the match. Two years later, they appeared again but representing Team SmackDown instead, where they eliminated the B-Team on the way to the blue brand's victory.

Despite going back to Raw through the WWE Draft this year, it would be a mistake if the Red Brand left out these two wrestlers from their side considering their history at the pay-per-view not to mention recently winning the WWE Tag Team World Cup at Crown Jewel.

#2 Finn Balor 2-0 (100%)

Finn Balor must be among NXT's top choices for Survivor Series
Finn Balor must be among NXT's top choices for Survivor Series

Another wrestler that has never lost at the Survivor Series pay-per-view is none other than Finn Balor. Despite being the longest ever NXT Champion, the first ever Universal Champion, and winning the Intercontinental Championship multiple times, Balor has also proved that he’s more than capable of working as a team.

His first appearance at Survivor Series came in 2017 when he was part of Team Raw. Balor didn’t eliminate anyone, but he still proved to be an instrumental part of his team as he delivered a Coup de Grace, which helped eliminate John Cena from Team SmackDown. The following year was very similar for Balor when he was part of Team Raw again and was on the winning side.

This years’ edition of Survivor Series will feature wrestlers from NXT for the first time fighting for brand supremacy and taking into account Balor has recently gone back to NXT, he’s probably among the top choices to represent them.

#1 Bobby Lashley 3-0 (100%)

Lashley is undefeated at Survivor Series.

If there is one wrestler Raw must consider adding to defend the brand at the Survivor Series pay-per-view against their SmackDown and NXT rivals is none other than Bobby Lashley. His first appearance at the Big-Four event was back in 2005 when he represented Team SmackDown against Team Raw on the 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match.

Despite he was the first one to be eliminated in this match, his team would go on to win. The following year, Lashley would appear in another 5-on-5 match, where he would be more instrumental for his team as not only did he score an elimination, but would go on to become one of two survivors in the match.

It took twelve years before Lashley next appeared at the pay-per-view, but it proved Lashley hadn’t missed a step as he was one of three survivors (alongside Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman) from Team Raw against Team SmackDown at Survivor Series 2018.
