AEW Dynamite: 3 botches and mistakes you probably missed this week (October 16th, 2019)

AEW Dynamite aired for their third week on TNT and after two weeks of being a ratings success in comparison to WWE's NXT product, it's easy to see why All Elite Wrestling was looking so smug.

This week's episode of AEW was stacked once again as the Tag Team Tournament continued, Riho defended her Women's Championship against Britt Baker and the hotly anticipated showdown between Chris Jericho and Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship took place.

Whilst AEW put on another fantastic show that proved that depth that the wrestling business has at present, there were still a number of botches and mistakes. AEW seems to have quite an issue when it comes to botches and some of the ones that took place this week are a testament to the same.

#3 Riho vs Britt Baker

Riho defended her Women's Championship against Dr. Britt Baker this week on AEW Dynamite in what was Riho's first defense as the main Champion in the Women's Division over on AEW.

Britt Baker hasn't been able to pick up any kind of momentum throughout her run in AEW, and one of the reasons for this is because of the mistakes she makes in the ring. A few months ago Britt Baker accidentally looked to tag in the wrong partner in the tag match, but this week her match with Riho has been a hit on social media because it was riddled with mistakes.

Riho was able to retain her Championship when she took advantage of the fact that Baker was trying to lock in her finisher and rolled her up. Hopefully, this is a match that both women have learned from since it was quite a disappointing outing from both stars.

#2 Jurassic Experience has a problem with tags

Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt came up short on Dynamite

The Jurassic Experience took on The Lucha Bros this week on Dynamite as part of the on-going tag-team tournament after Pentagon and Fenix had already attacked SCU at the top of the show and given Christopher Daniels a stinger that took him out of the match against Best Friends. Luckily, Scorpio Sky was able to step into his place and help his SCU pick up the victory.

With Luchasaurus struggling with an injury, Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy stepped in to represent their team but fell short to The Lucha Bros. There were some fantastic spots throughout the match as the two teams seemingly worked in tandem, but there were also several shocking mistakes.

Stunt and Jungle Boy have teamed together for a number of years, but for some reason this week on Dynamite they had an issue tagging each other into the ring. When Marko went to tag in Jungle Boy, he tripped and fell backward before Jungle Boy looked for the return tag. On another ocassion whilst Marko was taking his shirt off, so he was forced to run and deliver a back elbow to Pentagon before tagging out when Marko was ready.

#1 Pac shouldn't have touched the bat

Jon Moxley turned on Pac this week on NXT

The rivalry between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley has been heating up for a number of months now and because of Moxley's injury a few months ago, their match at All Out wasn't able to go ahead. Instead, it was Pac who stepped in for the former WWE star and managed to defeat Omega in his first match for AEW.

After Pac attacked Omega with a steel chair last week on Dynamite, Pac and Moxley teamed up to take on Hangman Adam Page and Omega. Mid-way through the match, Omega and Moxley once again came to blows and looked under the ring for weapons. Both men emerged with barbed wire covered tools and looked to use them on each other before Pac intervened.

Pac grabbed hold of Moxley's bat in the wrong place and when he ripped it out of his hand he ended up cutting his finger open. Interestingly Pac was able to ignore the fact that there was blood dripping from him all over the mat whilst he finished the match, but he could have avoided a cut if he took the bat from a different position.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
