Will we learn more about Chris Jericho's new faction tonight?
Will we learn more about Chris Jericho's new faction tonight?

The second episode of AEW Dynamite takes place later tonight and a number of matches have already been announced. We have the start of the AEW Tag-Team Championship with The Young Bucks taking on Private Party as well as Jon Moxley's in-ring television debut.

We will also learn more about Chris Jericho's new faction tonight as he teams up with Sammy Guevara to face Dustin Rhodes and Adam Page.

#1. Jimmy Havoc goes one on one with Darby Allin

Jimmy Havoc and Darby Allin face-off tonight on AEW Dynamite. This one has big stakes attached to it with the winner of the match getting a shot at Chris Jericho’s AEW World Championship next week on Dynamite.

Havoc and Allin are no strangers to each other and have already wrestled each other a number of times in All Elite Wrestling already but this will be their first singles match in the company. Allin impressed at Fyter Fest where to took Cody to a time limit draw.

Jimmy Havoc, for his part, is a seasoned veteran and as dangerous as anyone inside the squared circle. Havoc has been wrestling for around 15 years and his experience should take him to a win tonight, unless Allin can pull off something special.

#2. Bea Priestly and Emi Sakura take on Dr. Britt Baker and Riho

The first episode of AEW Dynamite last week saw Riho upset the odds and beat Nyla Rose to become the first AEW Women’s Champion. Tonight, Riho will team up with another top star of the AEW Women’s division – Dr. Britt Baker – as they face Bea Priestly and Emi Sakura.

If tensions come to a boil between Riho and Baker, there is a chance that it could lead to Baker turning on Riho which would lead to a title program between them moving forward. However, if Baker and Riho do end up working well together, they’re the favourites to win this match.

#3. The Young Bucks face Private Party in the AEW Tag-Team Tournament

The AEW Tag-Team Tournament to crown the first tag-team champions starts tonight with The Young Bucks facing Private Party. The Youg Bucks main-evented the first episode of AEW Dynamite last week where they teamed up with Kenny Omega to face AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and former LAX members, Santana and Ortiz.

The Bucks ended up on the losing side after Omega was taken out by Jon Moxley. They were then beaten down by Chris Jericho and his new faction (more on the faction later). Private Party also made a brief appearance at Dynamite, appearing ringside to chase off Angelico and Jack Evans in a segment that also involved Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.

Despite the beatdown last week, The Young Bucks remain the favourites going into this match although Private Party are a talented duo in their own right. The two teams wrestled earlier this year at and if that match was anything to go by, they're going to tear the house down tonight. The winners of this match will go on to face the winners of Jurassic Express vs Lucha Bros in the semi-finals.

#4. Jon Moxley makes his television debut against Shawn Spears

Jon Moxley made his presence felt during the main event of the first episode of AEW Dynamite last week, coming out of the crowd and attacking Omega. The two then brawled into the crowd and then the VIP area where Moxley sent Omega through a glass coffee table.

Moxley will make his in-ring television debut tonight as he goes one on one with another former WWE star, Shawn Spears. Spears created some ripples early on in his AEW career after hitting Cody on the head with a steel chair. He then lost his match against Cody at All Out and will be looking to regain some momentum tonight against Moxley, although that’s easier said than done.

All eyes will be on Moxley tonight and it won’t be a surprise to see Kenny Omega coming out to get some revenge either during or after the match.

Omega and Moxley will each other in singles action at the next All Elite Wrestling PPV – Full Gear. They were originally set to face each other at All Out until Moxley had to pull out with an elbow injury.

#5. The birth of a faction

We will learn more about this potential faction tonight on AEW Dynamite
We will learn more about this potential faction tonight on AEW Dynamite

The first episode of AEW Dynamite ended with a bang last week as we saw what looked like the birth of a new faction featuring Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and former WWE Superstar and Bellator fighter Jake Hager fka Jack Swagger. This was sort of confirmed later by Tony Khan in his post-Dynamite press conference.

This faction looks like they could be set to try and take over All Elite Wrestling although we haven’t found out much more since last week’s episode of Dynamite. Tonight’s episode sees Jericho teaming up with Sammy Guevara (more on this match later) as they face Dustin Rhodes and Hangman Page.

Along with the match, we should also learn more about the Jericho’s faction on AEW Dynamite tonight including a name and if there are any other members, which looks unlikely. Jericho, to my knowledge, has never led a faction so far in his storied career and just like almost everything he’s done, this should make for some really compelling television.

#6. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara face Dustin Rhodes and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho teams up with Sammy Guevara tonight to take on Dustin Rhodes and Hangman Page. Dustin Rhodes was one of the men laid out at the end of Dynamite last week by Jericho and what looks like his new faction.

Rhodes will be looking to get some revenge tonight as he teams up with Hangman Page, the man Jericho beat to become the first AEW World Champion. Page also had a disappointing night on the first episode of Dynamite where he was beaten by PAC after the referee stopped the match when PAC had the Brutalizer locked in.

Page has a 0-2 singles record right now and needs a win to build some momentum if he wants another show at Jericho’s AEW World Championship. There is, of course, some chance that Cody attacks Jericho at some point in the match.
