It's almost time for All Elite Wrestling to make their bow
It's almost time for All Elite Wrestling to make their bow

We're just hours away from the first episode of AEW Dynamite later tonight, as All Elite Wrestling brings professional wrestling back to TNT for the first time since the death of WCW.

AEW have a number of big matches already announced for tonight. We'll see the first AEW Women's Champion crowned as Nyla Rose faces Riho. We also have Cody Rhodes taking on Sammy Guevara as well as a special appearance by Jon Moxley. The main event pits AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz versus Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Cody vs Sammy Guevara

Cody was busy dealing with Shawn Spears at All Out in October. After finishing off the Chairman, Cody now braces up to face up and coming star Sami Guevara at All Elite Wrestling’s television debut tonight on TNT.

Sammy Guevara may not be as much of a household name as Cody but he’s definitely been impressive so far in his short time with AEW. His match with Cody tonight will probably be the biggest match of his career and a chance to introduce himself in front of a national audience.

Cody, on the other hand, has the pressure on him. He’s expected to win the match tonight but with one eye on Chris Jericho’s AEW Heavyweight Championship ahead of their showdown in November, it leaves an opening for Guevara to exploit.

Don’t put it past Chris Jericho to send Cody a message tonight either by costing him the match.

Hangman Page vs PAC

PAC takes on Hangman Page tonight

PAC made his AEW debut at All Out in style, making Kenny Omega tap out and leaving with a huge win. Page, for his part, main-evented All Out. He faced Chris Jericho to determine the first AEW World Champion, falling just short. In the post match press conference, PAC called out Page which has lead to the match tonight.

This one is definitely going to be a heated affair and neither man will hold back. I expect these two to tear the house down tonight and if I had to predict a winner, I’m leaning towards PAC winning this at the moment.

MJF vs Brandon Cutler

One man who definitely knows how to draw heat is MJF. The man who describes himself as ‘salt of the earth’ got a ton of heat from the Dungeons and Dragons community in the run-up to the first episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT tonight where he faces Brandon Cutler.

MJF has been vocal about Cutler not deserving to be on the AEW roster and has also said that the only reason he was signed was because of pity. In his AEW singles debut tonight, Cutler will have a chance to shut MJF up.

Nyla Rose vs Riho (to crown the AEW Women’s Champion)

Riho faces an uphill battle

On paper, Nyla Rose vs Riho is a mismatch and it does look like its Rose, who is the favourite going in to become the first AEW Women’s Champion. However, Riho has the speed advantage and she has heart, something you can never count out. We must also remember that Riho has already pinned Nyla Rose, during the Triple Threat match at Fyter Fest.

Nyla Rose qualified for this match by winning the Women’s Battle Royale at All Out while Riho pinned Hikaru Shida in a singles match.

Jon Moxley scheduled to make a special appearance

Jon Moxley is still out with an injury but he is scheduled to appear on AEW Dynamite tonight. The former Dean Ambrose is one of the most recognizable stars on the AEW roster. Moxley is scheduled to face Shawn Spears on his in-ring return next week, so don’t be surprised if there’s a confrontation between the two.

The main event of the first episode of AEW Dynamite will see AEW World Champion Chris Jericho teaming up Santana and Ortiz to face Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Santana and Ortiz made their first AEW appearance at All Out in October but their in ring debut will be on tonight’s show.

Kenny and The Young Bucks will be confident of leaving with the win, seeing that they have more experience working as a team. However, Omega’s loss to PAC at All Out had a hit on his confidence which could come back to bite him.
