AEW Dynamite sees massive botch during Inner Circle members' tag team match [Watch]

AEW Dynamite saw a tag team match on this week's episode between Inner Circle members Proud 'n' Powerful, who took on Private Party.

The match was spectacular, as is the case most of the time when these two teams enter the ring, but their match was ruined by one particular spot which left a bitter aftertaste for fans. There was a very noticeable botch that the commentary tried to explain away but could not and that resulted in a very awkward minute for the teams.

Botch on AEW Dynamite

The match was going well until there was a spot where Isiah Kassidy hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb on Ortiz of Proud 'n' Powerful. The referee counted 1, 2, and was about to count 3, but then he stopped by himself. He pretended to have been interrupted by Santana, but in reality, Santana was late and had not got there.

The referee went to the outside and just stood there talking to Santana until Quen decided enough was enough and hit a Senton on him. The commentary said that the leg had been pulled, when everyone could see that it had not.

Realizing that, later the commentary tried to cover it up by saying Ortiz was not the legal man. Moments after saying this Ortiz attempted a pin and that was being counted by the referee, discounting that argument as well.

Refereeing has been the biggest problem for AEW thus far, and it continued on this episode of AEW Dynamite.

However, thankfully, the match came to a proper conclusion later, with a spectacular ending. The botch marred what would have otherwise been a really good match.
