On what can be described as a bit of a shocker for NXT Takeover: WarGames, Britt Baker was shown in the audience and was referenced on camera, while supporting her boyfriend Adam Cole. While it's been reported that Triple H spoke with Britt Baker and said that the director for the event made a mistake and that it was an accident, AEW Executives aren't buying it as per Fightful Select.

For those who are unaware, Britt Baker was featured prominently on camera during the actual 4 on 4 WarGames match, when Tomassa Ciampa put Adam Cole through the table, from the top of the cage. NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo made it a point to point out that Baker was Cole's girlfriend.

Triple H told Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that the director putting her on camera was a complete accident as the director was unaware of who she was and just said he was looking for the person who had the most shocking reaction. He further said,

"I swear this, the director that took the shot didn't know who it was, he just went to the woman in the crowd who had the most concerned crazy look on her face and he took the shot, somebody next to him told him I'm sure told him and he got off the shot. I don't have a problem with it in any way, shape or form and then to not address it, then it's the elephant in the room that you don't address."

Triple H said that he would never want to put a talent in that position where it got her (Baker) heat with her employers. He said people on the internet also tend to rile things up. He further said,

"Look, I'm happy for her. She's got a good thing going on. She's killing it, she's doing a great job and that's awesome and I certainly would never want that to interfere with what she does."

While Triple H's explanation seems plausible, several names within AEW aren't convinced by the explanation. With AEW being considered competition by WWE, it's going to be interesting how things will shape up going forward.
