Alexa Bliss and Elias return to SmackDown

On tonight's episode of SmackDown, Nikki Cross faced Sonya Deville in a singles match. Deville had her friend Mandy Rose at ringside and The Golden Goddess tried to cause distractions during the match.

However, Cross prevailed over Deville by pinning her with a roll-up. As soon as the match got over, Deville and Rose started attacking Cross and Alexa Bliss came out to make the save and drove out Fire & Desire out of the ring by attacking them.

Also in a backstage segment that involved Dana Brooke and Drake Maverick, Elias came out from the back while strumming his guitar and made his return. Elias took a few shots at Maverick, made Dana Brooke dance to a song and announced his return to the Blue Brand.

Alexa Bliss' absence

After Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Asuka & Kairi Sane, The Kabuki Warriors, Bliss took a sabbatical from WWE television for a couple of months. After months of speculation, The Goddess finally made his return to Friday Night SmackDown.

Elias' return from injury

Elias last appeared on WWE television on the August 27 episode of SmackDown where he lost the 24/7 Championship to Drake Maverick. It was announced on September 10 that Elias was suffering from an ankle injury and hence he was removed from the 2019 King of The Ring Tournament.
