The 35th edition of WWE's grandest pay-per-view, WrestleMania is set to take place this Sunday at the MetLife Stadium. WWE has announced a host of matches for the event, with all the top titles of the company being defended on the show.

It is every superstar's dream to feature on the Grandest Stage of Them All but not everyone has been successful in reaching the desired stage. This year, WWE has announced the first-ever women's WrestleMania main event match featuring, Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair.

It is surprising to note that at last year's WrestleMania, Ronda Rousey was wrestling in her first ever WWE match, Becky Lynch participated in a kick-off show match while Charlotte was the SmackDown women's champion.

A lot of things have changed in WWE since WrestleMania 34 and let's have a look at where the superstars who left WrestleMania 34 as champions are -

#1 Cedric Alexander - WWE Cruiserweight Champion

The Lumbar Legacy, Cedric Alexander had faced Mustafa Ali in the finals of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament at the WrestleMania 34 kick-off show. Both the men stole the show and wowed the WWE Universe with their performance.

In the end, Queen City's Favorite Son, Cedric Alexander won the match and became the champion of the purple brand.

He had a lengthy reign with the title which ended at WWE Super Show Down at the hands of The Daredevil from Down Under, Buddy Murphy.

Alexander is still performing actively on 205 Live and he was even a part of the recently concluded Cruiserweight Championship #1 contender's tournament which saw Tony Nese emerge as the winner.

The Architect, Seth Rollins battled in a triple threat Intercontinental Championship match, also including the champion the Miz and Finn Balor. The Miz had refused help from his Miztourage hinting at a potential face turn ahead of the match but ultimately, he lost the title to Seth Rollins who won his first Intercontinental Championship and became a Grand Slam champion.

The Kingslayer took the title to the next level with his open challenges on RAW episodes before he became a part of the reunited Shield.

Seth then won the Royal Rumble match of 2019 to earn a shot at Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. The Aerialist is expected to walk out with the Universal title this Sunday, in what could be a huge but delightful shock for the WWE Universe. Only time will tell.

#3 Charlotte Flair - WWE SmackDown Women's Champion

The Queen, Charlotte Flair became the first woman to defeat the Japanese superstar, Asuka in a singles match in WWE when she made the Empress of Tomorrow tap out to the figure-eight leg lock. Flair had put her SmackDown women's championship on the line that year.

Almost 12 months have passed since that night but nothing has changed for Charlotte as she will be putting her SmackDown women's championship on the line at this year's WrestleMania as well. Though she had lost the title to Becky Lynch during their thrilling rivalry, who further lost it to Asuka, Ric Flair's daughter overcame Asuka in a WrestleMania 34 rematch two weeks ago to become an 8-time women's champion.

The Nature Girl is all set to make history by becoming the first female superstar to main event WrestleMania, alongside Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch.

#4 Jinder Mahal - WWE United States Champion

The Modern Day Maharaja, Jinder Mahal was involved in the 'Top 10 List' storyline with the then United States Champion, Randy Orton, and his nemesis Bobby Roode. Rusev was added to the match thanks to his extreme popularity as the WWE Universe got a fatal-4 way match for the US title. Mahal defied the odds to win the title.

The Man of Peace, however, lost the title to Jeff Hardy a few nights later and has had no direction on RAW ever since. He will be a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35 but looking at his recent booking, the chances of him winning the match are pretty low.

It is really shocking to see a man who was the premier champion of the company just 2 years ago being treated like a jobber.

The Usos had put their SmackDown tag team championships on the line in a triple threat match against the New Day and the Bludgeon Brothers. The Bludgeon Brothers had received a tremendous push ahead of WrestleMania and they made full use of their momentum to win the titles at the Show of Shows.

Harper and Rowan held the championships for quite a long time before losing them to the New Day in what was one of the best matches in WWE history. Rowan's injury was the key reason behind their tag team title reign coming to an end; Harper too joined the injury list soon.

Currently, Rowan is portraying the role of Daniel Bryan's sidekick while Harper has been kept off TV for no apparent reason.

Alexa Bliss had defended her RAW Women's title against her former best friend, Nia Jax. As expected, the Irresistible Force squashed Little Miss Bliss to win the RAW Women's Championship. Nia's reign lasted until the Money in the Bank pay-per-view where Alexa repaid her fate back by successfully cashing in her Money in the Bank contract.

Nia Jax then had a feud with Ronda Rousey before she started challenging male superstars in January 2019. Currently, Jax is set to challenge the WWE Women's tag team champions, the Boss 'n' Hug Connection, along with her partner Tamina.

The women's tag team titles match will be a fatal 4-way, also involving the IIconics and the Divas of Doom. The odds of the Samoan Slaughterhouse winning the championships are very less as they have not been booked like championship materials on RAW.

AJ Styles had put his WWE Championship on the line in a singles match against the 2018 Royal Rumble winner, Shinsuke Nakamura. The Phenomenal One prevailed over the Japanese superstar in what was an underwhelming bout. A lot of fans were disappointed with the quality of this match as everyone expected this match to stand out. However, Nakamura turned heel after the match to kick off an intense rivalry between the two.

Styles emerged victorious in the feud against The Artist and then moved on to feud with Rusev, followed by Samoa Joe. He established himself as the top guy of WWE before his reign came to an end at the hands of Daniel Bryan.

The New Face that runs the Place will compete against Randy Orton in a much-awaited singles match at WrestleMania 35.

The former Wyatt Family member, Braun Strowman won a tag team battle royal match to become the new #1 contender for the Bar's RAW Tag Team championships ahead of WrestleMania 34. However, he did not have a tag team partner and hence, was asked to find one before his match. WWE did the unthinkable here and had Braun choose a kid named Nicholas as his tag team partner. The duo won the titles just to relinquish them the next night.

The Monster Amongst Men then won the Money in the Bank contract and stayed in the Universal Championship picture before being moved to the undercard once again. He will be a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this Sunday whereas Nicholas is enjoying his vacation.

#9 Brock Lesnar - WWE Universal Champion

Brock Lesnar won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 33 from Goldberg and went on to have a lengthy reign as the top guy for over 500 days, 504 to be precise. During those 504 days, he had once put his title on the line against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 34. The Big Dog was heavily favored to win the match yet Brock Lesnar retained his title in the end.

Come 2019, Brock Lesnar is all set to headline WrestleMania 35 as the Universal Champion and this time he will defend his title versus Seth Rollins. Though Brock had lost the championship to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2018, he regained his championship at Crown Jewel.

The Beast Incarnate may switch to UFC soon and hence, he is expected to drop the title to Seth Rollins.
