Another title match official for Summerslam
Summerslam is shaping up to have the best card it's had in years.
It was officially announced by WWE’s twitter account that Sasha Banks will square off against Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship at Summerslam, in a rematch from last Monday’s episode of Raw, where Sasha Banks successfully defeated Charlotte to become the new WWE Women’s Championship.
The bout on Raw saw Charlotte’s reign as WWE Women’s Champion end at 113 days, and her overall reign as champion(Divas and Women’s) at 309 days. It was expected that Sasha would have her coronation at Summerslam, but plans had changed.
A previous report stated that the reason Charlotte dropped the title to Sasha Banks on Raw was that she wanted to take some time off, due to a hectic schedule on the road.
However, these rumors have been dismissed, and it is being said that the reason the title change happened on Raw to generate buzz about the new era of Raw in the post-draft WWE.
Three other matches have been announced before this – the first being a match between Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar, the second being a Raw match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor for the new WWE Universal Championship, and the third being a Smackdown match between Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Championship.
