#5: Brock Lesnar vs The Rock - Summerslam 2002

The hype around this match was incredible. With the Rock, one of the best in the game when it comes to electrifying with a promo, adding Brock into the mix was just taking things to another level. Who would win? It was a question of Brocks power versus the Rock's speed and anything could have happened.

Eventually, the case of strength against speed came to a head and it was looking like Brock would win the match but that wasn’t before we saw commentator Paul Heyman being put through a table. With Lesnar successfully defending the ‘People's elbow and the Spine-buster, The Rock was out of manoeuvres and the end was inevitable.

The crowd chanted Lesnar’s name as he was crowned the youngest WWE champ in history as Brock Lesnar’s Legacy was cemented in wrestling history, a new era had begun in professional wrestling, the era of the beast.

#4: Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker - No Mercy, 2002.

In his first match after winning the title in dramatic fashion, Brock found himself in the path of one of the WWE’s most feared competitors, the Deadman aka the Undertaker. A firm fan favourite, this would be a test of not only Brock’s technical wrestling skill set but a test of his popularity amongst the fan base as well.

The Undertaker had long since cemented his legacy in the WWE and facing Brock Lesnar was just another fight in the long accomplished road that had left a wake of victims behind him.

No-one expected the bloody mess that ensued, with the Undertaker and Brock exchanging blows and without a doubt, making this the bloodiest ‘Hell in a cell’ match ever. With both wrestlers unleashing their signature moves, fans were enthralled as Brock escaped the Undertakers ‘Tombstone’ and reversed it into his own signature slam, the ‘F5’.

As the Undertaker laid unconscious and barely moving, Brock secured the Pin-fall and the world took notice as the Beast was on the prowl, eating the competition in the WWE.

#3: Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk - SummerSlam 2013

Titled as the WWE match of the year in 2013, this bout between "The Best vs The Beast" ended up being a real crowd pleaser. The match ended with a thrilling finish that saw Punk being snatched of what the fans thought as a victory for him.

The match was a heated exchange that saw Punk set to finish the match with the Anaconda Vice but Paul Heyman stepped in with a steel chair, dragging Punk's attention away from the beast, and allowing Brock to capitalize with the chair, sending Punk writhing in pain.

Lesnar took advantage of the situation, setting Punk with an F5 on the steel chair, knocking him out cold. Lesnar got the win but walked away with a negative reaction from the crowd that cemented him as the ultimate heel, a role which he was way more comfortable in playing.

#2: Brock Lesnar vs Eddie Guererro - No Way Out 2004

The David vs Goliath story is very simple to make, all you have to do is look at the size of the guys, and you have your story right there. Anything you can put on top of that is just magic, which is what this match had due to Guerrero never being at the top of the mountain before, while Lesnar played the bully role so well.

Eddie Guerrero was a legend of the sport and his passing was a sad moment in professional wrestling. One of the most memorable moments in WWE history was when he took on Brock Lesnar and overcame the beast. Eddie was a charismatic crowd favourite wrestler. So it was never a doubt from the start as to how this one would finish.

With the match being a real grinder, with both wrestlers working on specific areas, the match ended with Brock going for the F-5 and Eddie countering it into his signature DDT, followed by a Frog Splash for a career-defining victory over the Beast.

#1: Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle - Iron-Man match - Smackdown 2003

Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar's WWE Smackdown classic from 2003 remains one of the best the show has ever seen. In what might be remembered as the greatest ‘Iron Man’ match of all-time, Brock Lesnar faced the Olympic Hero, Kurt Angle.

Angle, known for his technical prowess was set to meet his match in Brock Lesnar, a former NCAA champion. Lesnar had some serious mass on Angle and many thought if it were to go down in a true technical manner, Brocks superior strength would see him earn the fight.

In the weeks prior to the main events, the build-up and hype was tremendous and Brock played the part of the Heel to absolute perfection, With Angle winning his title back, Brock was the perfect challenger in the wings and the final one-hour Iron Man matchup would be the true test of who the real champion was and who wanted it more.

Brock dominated the match from the outset and had Angle at a final score of 5-2, showcasing his physical superiority throughout the match. What made it special was seeing Angle start off on the back foot and then recovering, nearly settling the score with 5-4 and trying his best to end up with the win.

In the final seconds of the match, Angle slapped the ankle lock but Brock held on through the pain to avoid the submission for the victory and the title block has had an illustrious career both as a wrestler and a fighter. He has a legacy that no other athlete in any of the sports has come close to rivalling and he will always be a special attraction.
