Often in Kayfabe, individuals who team together are said to be brothers. Examples include The Dudley Boys, the Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker and Kane), and so on.

WWE has had many real-life brothers walk through the door, some of which have gone on to leave a longlasting impact on professional wrestling. They've taken the tag team division by storm, showing brilliant teamwork, understanding, and chemistry inside the ring.

Here, we take a look at four of the most successful tag teams in wrestling history.

#4 The Wild Samoans

Debuting in 1979, Afa and Sika are distinguished members of the Anoa'i family, who held 21 tag team championships around the world (3 at WWF.)

They paved the way for the rest of the family to enter the business, and Sika is also the father of WWE Superstar Roman Reigns.

The brothers lived up to their name, and rarely spoke during interviews, grunting in a primitive dialect that was understood only by their manager. That didn't matter, though, as them brutalizing their opponents and winning was enough to get their point across!

The Wild Samoans won a lot of gold throughout their careers and were rightfully inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.

#3 The Steiner Brothers

Rick and Scott Steiner

Considered to be one of the greatest tag teams of all time, Rick and Scott Steiner flourished at WWE (then WWF), WCW, and in Japan.

It can be said that the early 1990s belonged to the duo, with Pro Wrestling Illustrated naming them Tag Team of the Year in 1990 and 1993, and Wrestling Observer doing the same in 1990.

Both of them began their amateur wrestling careers at the University of Michigan, and have since achieved many more accolades and titles.

They are 2 time WWF tag champs, and while Scott Steiner, though a bit controversial found success outside the team as a singles competitor, his older brother Rick didn't have the best singles career.

They may not be inducted into the Hall of Fame as of yet, but they will forever be remembered as a legendary tag team.

#2 The Usos

The Usos are one of the top tag teams in WWE, and have been for a couple of years now. Sons of Rikishi, they have carried on the Anoa'i family legacy, and much like their great uncles The Wild Samoans have dominated the tag team division and cemented their position as one of the best teams of all time.

'Uso' translates to 'brother' in Samoan, and the twins have stuck together since day one, becoming one of the rare sibling duo's or even tag teams who haven't feuded against each other.

They are a record 4 time Smackdown tag team champions, and have won the Tag Championship a total of 6 times.

While this already makes for an impressive resume, Jimmy and Jey are the first team to win both the WWE and Raw/Smackdown Championships, along with winning the Slammy Award for Tag Team Of The Year in both 2014 and 2015.

They are known for their own kind of twin magic, with the chemistry, talent and understanding they share.

#1 The Hardy Boyz

There is no wrestling fan who hasn't heard of Team Extreme.

While they are triumphant as a team, they both have had successful singles careers.

The championships they've one can be counted, but the influence Matt and Jeff have had on pro wrestling isn't quantifiable.

Wherever they have wrestled, a lasting impact has been left, and the duo have won gold across the world (8 tag championships at WWE).

The Hardy's are high flying risk takers, and there isn't a lot they haven't done or tried in the ring.

They have been ranked as the number one team by Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) in 2000, and received Comeback of the Year in 2017 where they won the Raw Tag Championships in a ladder match at Wrestlemania 33 in what was a fitting return. Matt and Jeff have also pioneered ladder matches at TLC, with their bouts with the Dudley Boys and Edge and Christian leaving lasting memories, much like the majority of their careers have.

The Hardy Boyz are the only team in history to have held tag championships from all three major US promotions (WWE, WCW and TNA) within a months span. They are firm fan favourites and one of the best teams of all time, and are undubtedly future Hall of Famers.

Brothers in arms in the ring and outside it, these sibling duos have all played a big part in revolutionizing Tag Team Wrestling.
