Earlier it was announced that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez will team up with Rey Mysterio to take on Andrade and Drew McIntyre when WWE returns to Mexico City later this month. Unfortunately, the matchup is no longer scheduled to go down and WWE Espanol has confirmed that Cain Velasquez will be making a live appearance instead.

Rey Mysterio is still set to compete in a tag team matchup at the event, as he joins Humberto Carrillo against The O.C's Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

WWE Crown Jewel implications

Cain Velasquez made his WWE debut at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view last month in a WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar. Although it was expected to be a brutal affair, their bout ended pretty quickly with Velasquez submitting to The Beast Incarnate's Kimura Lock. Rey Mysterio then retaliated and as a result, he will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series.

The sudden exclusion of Cain Velasquez will be a debatable topic for the time being as WWE is yet to reveal any reason behind this decision. Possibly, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion is legitimately hurt and needs some time to recover.
