Clash of Champions 2019: 5 Mistakes WWE & Vince McMahon shouldn't make

Things could certainly go very wrong at Clash of Champions
Things could certainly go very wrong at Clash of Champions

Clash of Champions is almost upon us and from the looks of it, it could be an interesting show. Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman are scheduled to compete twice in the same night while the actual tag teams on RAW sit on the sidelines awaiting their turn.

Instead of criticizing the card and stating what could have been; in this article, I'm going to focus upon what should not be. These are the things WWE and Vince McMahon should be mindful of, to make sure that the show goes off without a real glitch.

Be sure to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts about the same. I'm certainly curious about how this event could lead to Hell in a Cell 2019 and beyond!

So, without further ado, here are 5 things that should not happen at the show.

#5 Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins remain Tag Team Champions

Let be begin with the most obvious one out there. I don't think that Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins should remain RAW Tag Team Champions after Clash of Champions. Even if the team breaks down, allowing Robert Roode or Dolph Ziggler to pick up a win, it would be significantly better than having them carry the titles after the Universal Championship clash.

While everyone praises AEW's tag team division, WWE is not lacking in talent either when it comes to tag teams. I mean you have The Viking Raiders facing local talent on a weekly basis, The Street Profits relegated to cutting backstage promos, and The AoP nowhere to be seen, even though we know that they're not necessarily injured.

Even if Ziggler and Roode win it, at least they'll be proud representatives of the division. Can we even say the same thing for Strowman and Rollins?

#4 Have Brock Lesnar show up yet again

We're finally at a place where Seth Rollins can defend his Championship against full-time members of the RAW roster. I really don't think that someone like Brock Lesnar should show up and rain on his parade for some time at least, personally. Of course, Lesnar is a big draw, but WWE needs to create new stars and also give Brock Lesnar enough time to be 'missed' before he returns to a WWE ring.

Brock Lesnar is not active on social media per se, and this is why there's always a sense of mystique that surrounds the man and everything he does. Therefore, when he does show up, his appearances are completely out of the blue, considering that he does not follow a pattern or a formula. It is this that has made him such a massive draw, but lately, fans have begun to tire of him being involved at the top of the roster.

I daresay that for all of his accomplishments and his appeal, if Brock Lesnar does return at Clash of Champions 2019, fans will be very unhappy.

#3 Roman Reigns beats Rowan

If Rowan is being given a singles push, in my opinion, Vince McMahon should go all the way with him to establish him as a dominant standout performer, who can beat top stars with ease. While he's always been portrayed as a monster, somewhere down the line, because of the way he's been booked, he's lost the sense of danger that should accompany him.

So, Rowan goes up against the biggest star of the company in Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions, and in my opinion, he should beat Reigns. It does not matter if he wins clean or not; he should come out on top by the end of it.

So, even if The Fiend or Daniel Bryan were to interfere, Rowan should stand tall over the lifeless body of Roman Reigns at the end of Clash of Champions, looking as ominous as he can look. Not only will this extend the storyline, it'll push him into the Lars Sullivan spot of being the monster on SmackDown Live.

Maybe it's finally time for Rowan to shine, away from the Bludgeon Brothers and the Wyatt Family.

#2 Charlotte Flair becomes SmackDown Women's Champion

Bayley has been on fire ever since she became the SmackDown Women's Champion, in my personal opinion at least. And yes, I mean to say that she was great even before she turned heel on RAW, not long ago and shocked the world. There was a heel hiding in Bayley that was unleashed upon the world on that fateful day, and the world certainly wants to see more.

Putting the title on Charlotte Flair will be the safe option, but heel Bayley is money and something that needs to be explored to a greater degree. Heel Bayley could go on to face women like Ember Moon and Liv Morgan, and in turn, elevate them to the next level. She could also turn Alexa Bliss face, something that the world has wanted to see for many months.

Bayley should be the face of the SmackDown Live Women's Division for a while at least, because it's fresh, it's unexpected and having Charlotte back in the mix would be more of the same once again. Charlotte could certainly win the down the line, maybe closer to WrestleMania 36.

#1 Braun Strowman becomes the WWE Universal Champion

I'm definitely not opposed to the idea of Braun Strowman becoming the WWE Universal Champion someday. Please be mindful of the fact that this is not what I mean when I say that I don't want him to become the Universal Champion at Clash of Champions 2019.

Let me say out the premise for you so that it makes more sense to everyone. One thing that we know for sure is the fact that The Fiend will challenge either Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, first through the venue advertisement and then subsequently, through the Firefly Fun House.

One would assume that The Fiend will go over and capture the Championship in his first attempt at the title because if he can't, it'll ruin what is a great gimmick. Unlike boxing or mixed martial arts, the results can be controlled in sports entertainment, and Vince McMahon will need to make The Fiend appear like a credible threat so that someone like The Demon King can potentially dethrone him at WrestleMania.

Maybe having The Fiend interfering for a no-contest in the main event, sets everything up for the future!
