Del Rio clarifies the rumours on WWE not allowing him to drop the AAA title

Alberto Del Rio blames AAA for his inability to drop the HW title

Alberto Del Rio who hasn’t been around giving interviews in the Mexican media, gave his first one since his return to the WWE, when he spoke with Reforma’s Felix Zapata yesterday.

Del Rio clarified the rumour that was going around which said that Del Rio didn’t drop the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title the correct way, after he made his surprise return at the Hell in a Cell PPV in October.

According to him, WWE were willing for him to drop the title at the AAA Guerra de Titanes show on December 4th. However, AAA canceled the show and WWE pulled their offer back leaving del Rio unable to drop the title.

Del Rio, for his part, blames the AAA for the situation, terming them as ‘unorganised’. He also expressed disappointment on being unable to go out gracefully in his native country, due to AAA not keeping their word. He also attributed the interview to let his fans know about what really happened and clear the air.

Del Rio surprised everyone in attendance and everyone watching the show, when he showed up as the surprise opponent at WWE Hell in a Cell and challenged the John Cena Open challenge for the WWE US title, and won it.
