WWE recently had another round of roster cuts which sadly saw the release of 18 wrestlers, many of them coming as a shock to many fans.
Sadly, the WWE Universe has become accustomed to seeing the wrestlers they know and love being let go, as Vince McMahon's company has had several spells of talent releases.
The disappointing practice has become a massive deal for the company this year, garnering a lot of attention. But that hasn't stopped them, as we found out on November 4th, 2021, when stars started announcing on Twitter they'd been let go.
Here's everyone that WWE let go this week.
#18 WWE NXT release Franky Monet
It was exciting news when Taya Valkyrie signed with WWE, given how she carried the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Division as their top star. However, there was undoubtedly some reticence when she debuted as Franky Monet.
Monet should have been a top star in WWE's Women's division, either in NXT 2.0 or the main roster, but she has now been released from the company without reaching the top of either.
#17 WWE NXT release Ember Moon
Ember Moon has been with WWE for six years, but that came to an end on Thursday, November 4th.
She's a former NXT Women's and NXT Women's Tag Team Champion and was the first woman in the company to do so. Despite these title accolades, it's hard not to think The Shenom should've won more during her time with the company.
After struggling on the main roster, Moon returned to NXT, where she started to find her groove again. But she's now been released before she could make it back to the main roster.
#16 and #15 WWE release Scarlett and Karrion Kross
Scarlett and Karrion Kross as a package were theatrical, exciting, and intriguing. The pair together were rightly at the top of NXT for many months, but things started to go downhill when Kross was called up to WWE's main roster.
The former NXT Champion floundered on the main roster, losing his allure almost instantly. Part of the reason was that he'd lost his appeal because WWE had decided to separate Kross from Scarlett. The IMPACT Wrestling star also completely disappeared, with many waiting for her and Kross to reunite.
Now they're both out of the company, with many people pointing to the pair of them as an example of WWE's alleged ineptitude at managing to lessen what should've been a sure thing.
#14 WWE NXT release Oney Lorcan
Oney Lorcan was always one of WWE NXT's most understated but effortlessly entertaining superstars. His tag team with Danny Burch was grossly under-utilized and under-appreciated.
Oney's release isn't one of the more shocking ones given his relatively low-profile, but he's a great talent and one that arguably had a higher ceiling than we saw him reach while in WWE.
#13 WWE SmackDown release B-Fab
This is one of the more bizarre releases as B-Fab was a big part of the newly called-up to SmackDown Hit Row who were just starting to get over and introduce themselves to the mainstream audience.
Now the remaining trio will have to continue in WWE without the female member who was a major attraction during their time in NXT.
#12, #11, #10, #9 and #8 WWE NXT releases Jessi Kamea, Zayda Ramier, Trey Baxter, Katrina Cortez and Jeet Rama
With every round of WWE releases there's always a handful of NXT stars who were either just getting started or hadn't quite broken through to television yet and this round of releases is certainly no exception.
The biggest name out of this list is probably Trey Baxter who had been given a sizable spotlight on NXT over the past few months and was earmarked as a potential future star for the company.
#7 and #6 WWE releases The Lucha House Party
WWE had already released one of the Lucha House Party members in Kalisto, with the luchador recently appearing on an episode of AEW Dynamite.
Now it looks like Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik will be following him, at least out of the door in WWE as they've been released as well.
Both men are extremely talented cruiserweights who were always great in a WWE ring but never seemed to get taken seriously as Lucha House Party, as a trio or even as a tag team
#5 and #4. Keith Lee and Mia Yim
We'd defy anyone to watch Keith Lee's appearance during the 2019 Survivor Series match and not be absolutely mystified that two years later the same man who stole the show at that pay-per-view was released.
Mia Yim being let go alongside her partner is also a shock given her talent, but not entirely unexpected due to the fact she's been fairly absent on television for a while and was part of the disastrous RETRIBUTION stable prior to that.
#3 WWE release Nia Jax
Nia Jax's release was unexpected given her time with the company, relative success, and her connection to The Rock. But none of that was enough to keep her employed by WWE.
She's one of a handful from this set of releases to have been at the top of her division as a Women's Champion, but now she'll have to ply her trade and try and win more world titles elsewhere.
#2 WWE release Harry Smith
Harry Smith's return to the company had been cut short due to a suspected COVID-19 diagnosis, but it's been missed even shorter by the fact that he was also one of the wrestlers who couldn't escape the releases.
It's a shame not to see the return that everyone, including Harry Smith, would have wanted. It's certainly not often that the company hires someone back only for them to make a brief one-off appearance and then fire them again.
#1 WWE release Eva Marie
Eva Marie's return to the company after a relatively disastrous first-time round garnered a lot of attention because the former wrestler-turned-film star had earned herself quite a lot of followers.
However, many were concerned about her signing because her wrestling ability wasn't up to scratch before, and people had their fingers crossed it would have improved.
Unfortunately, Eva Marie's return was pretty uneventful, other than giving Piper Niven/ Doudrop her foremost roster call-up opportunity.
