Recently, Finn Balor became the NXT Champion for the second time in his WWE career after he defeated Adam Cole. The pair fought it out for the championship on Super Tuesday II with Balor eventually coming out on top.

Balor has been a WWE Superstar since 2014 after a lengthy career around the world. Since he made the move to WWE, he has appeared on RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Finn Balor surprisingly made the move back to NXT in late 2019 following a loss to "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam.

Finn Balor has been a top performer with WWE for years now and he has been involved in some incredible matches. Here are five of his biggest championship wins during his time with WWE.


#5. Finn Balor wins the Intercontinental Championship - Elimination Chamber 2019

Fresh off a loss to Brock Lesnar at the start of 2019, Finn Balor started a rivalry with Bobby Lashley, who was the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion. At the time, Lio Rush managed Lashley. The pair had an intense feud, building up to a championship match between Lashley and Balor.

At Elimination Chamber, Lashley put the Intercontinental title on the line against Finn Balor, but the match was a two-on-one handicap as Rush aided the then-champion. With the odds stacked against him, Finn Balor managed to hit Rush with the Coup de Grace and pin him to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Afterward, a frustrated Lashley hit Rush with a Thrust Spinebuster.

The feud between Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley continued after Elimination Chamber. They traded the title back and forth heading into WrestleMania 35.

In 2015, NXT introduced The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as a tribute to the wrestling legend who had recently passed away. The tournament pit sixteen tag teams against each other for the now-prestigious trophy.

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe teamed up to fend off fierce competition in the inaugural event. They defeated formidable pairings to reach the finals including The Lucha Dragons and The Revival, who were both well-established tag teams.

In the finals, Balor and Joe went head-to-head against the team of Baron Corbin and Rhyno. Balor managed to prevent his tag partner from losing via pinfall before he performed a Coup de Grace on Rhyno to win the tournament for his team.

Not long after the events at NXT TakeOver: Respect, Joe turned on Balor, which ignited a long and bitter feud between the former partners. Their program ended when Balor lost the NXT Championship months later at a live event.

#3. Finn Balor wins the NXT Championship - The Beast in the East

In early 2015, Finn Balor unsuccessful challenged Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship. After he defeated Tyler Breeze at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, Balor earned another shot at the title at The Beast in the East, the only WWE event that was broadcast live from Toyko, Japan.

At the event, Finn Balor unleashed his Demon persona on Owens. The two faced off in a match that received praise from both fans and critics. During the match, Owens mocked John Cena, who he recently started a rivalry with, using his signature moves such as the Five Knuckle Shuffle.

Balor was able to hit Owens with the Coup de Grace twice and he eventually emerged as the winner, becoming the NXT Champion for the first time. Finn Balor became one of the longest-reigning NXT Champions of all-time, holding the title for 292 days.

After winning the Intercontinental Championship from Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber, Finn Balor dropped the title back to his rival in a rematch after 21 days as champion. Balor earned a rematch when he defeated the pairing Lashley and Jinder Mahal on the Mar. 25, 2019 episode of RAW in a two-on-one handicap match.

WWE schedule the title match between Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley for WrestleMania 35. For the bout, Balor reintroduced his popular "Demon King" persona to face off against Lashley. Bobby Lashley put up a good fight against Balor, hitting the Superstar with a spear to force a near-fall. However, Balor managed to win the match after he performed a powerbomb followed by the Coup de Grace.

Finn Balor became a two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion. He successfully defended the title against Sami Zayn and Andrade before he dropped it to Shinsuke Nakamura, ending his second reign at 98 days.

In the summer of 2016, Finn Balor emerged as one of the biggest stars in WWE. "The Extraordinary Man Who Can Do Extraordinary Things" was one of the top picks of the WWE Draft as the fifth Superstar selected. After moving to RAW, Finn Balor immediately made his mark when he defeated Kevin Owens, Rusev, and Cesaro in a fatal four-way match to earn a chance to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion.

Balor faced off against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016, with his parents watching at ringside. Finn Balor wrestled Rollins as The Demon King and used the Coup de Grace to become the first WWE Universal Champion.

However, Balor suffered from a shoulder injury during the match. Sadly, Finn Balor had to relinquish the title because he had to undergo surgery. Following this announcement, a fatal four-way was set for the Aug. 29 episode of RAW where Balor's old NXT rival, Kevin Owens, won the title.
