Balor answered Curt Hawkins' open challenge on the latest episode of RAW and defeated Hawkins with a Coup de Grace. Balor’s had a total of three matches since he returned from his year-long injury.

The heart of the matter

On the April 10 edition of RAW, Balor, during a match with Jinder Mahal suffered a concussion after getting hit in the face pretty hard. Keeping Balor's health under consideration, WWE immediately pulled him from that week's live events.

Before tonight's RAW, PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported that Balor had shown up at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, for an Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Test aka ImPACT test, so that he could be cleared for action tonight.

What's next?

Currently, Balor's just working matches without any rhyme or reason. But, after the events that took place following his encounter on April 10, Balor may begin feuding with Bray Wyatt after he finishes his feud with Randy Orton at Payback.

Author's take

Although this injury was a result of an accident, it did end up putting Balor out for a week, thus making him miss house shows. If not all, some higher-ups in the company may end up seeing Balor as an 'injury-prone' wrestler, thus lowering their confidence in him as a major star.

But, considering the hard-hitting style he worked in the indies in the UK and New Japan in Japan, such injuries may just be a small hurdle in the road towards Championship goal and Superstardom for Balor.
