Firefly FunHouse

Windham Lawrence Rotunda, popularly known as Bray Wyatt is an American Professional Wrestler. He is known for his multiple characterization and playing mind games with his opponents. Bray Wyatt made his wrestling debut under the name Alex Rotundo in 2009 at WWE’s development brand FCW. He then joined the NXT brand in 2010 under the ring name Husky Harris with Cody Rhodes as his mentor. After being eliminated from NXT, Harris made his WWE debut by helping The Nexus leader Wade Barrett to secure a win against John Cena, forcing him to join The Nexus. Husky Harris has been the part of The Nexus under CM Punk and got punt kicked by Randy Orton, which made him written off from television for a year.

In April 2012, Husky Harris was repacked as Bray Wyatt and returned to NXT. He had an alias with Luke Harper and Eric Rowan to form The Wyatt Family, where he adopted the gimmick of “The Eater of Worlds”. The Wyatt Family then made their main roster debut on the July 8, 2013 episode of Raw by assaulting Kane. They then continued their attacks on multiple superstars and had a successful run till 2017. In 2017, Bray Wyatt had a long tem feud with Matt Hardy, where Matt was in Broken Hardy gimmick. They had multiple brawls and then joined hands to form a new team named “Deleters of Worlds”. The team was disbanded in 2018 as they pitched multiple ideas to WWe to work on their characters.

In April 2019, WWE began airing ominous vignettes across WWE shows with a sinister buzzard puppet, a witch doll and other toys. Wyatt then appeared on a pre-recorded segment as the host of the Firefly Fun House. It is a surreal children’s program featuring puppets such as Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, Ramblin Rabbit, Huskus the Pig Boy and The Boss. Bray Wyatt was found with a new hairstyle, short beard and masculine looks. During the initial segments Bray Wyatt then destroyed a cutout of his old version with a chainsaw by registering him as a new persona. The segments then started being viral and earned the attention of the fans. He then revealed The Fiend, an alternate ego of himself with a more sinister clothing and demonic mask. He identified “The Fiend” as the protector of themselves.

The Fiend Unleashed

For almost two months, Bray Wyatt was seen only on the pre-shooted promos teasing his Fiend gimmick, but never made his way to the ring. However on the July 15, 2019 episode of Raw, Bray Wyatt appeared on the ring as The Fiend and attacked Finn Balor with a “Sister Abigail” establishing himself as a heel. This lead to a match with Finn Balor at SummerSlam, The Fiend entered with an altered theme with Firefly Fun House segment theme in the beginning. The Fiend was more powerful and unable to control his inner demons, thereby defeating Balor with the “Mandible Claw”. The Fiend continued his assault on WWE veterans such as Kurt Angle, Jelly Lawler, Kane, and Mick Foley. He then started a feud with the Universal Champion Seth Rollins by attacking him at Clash of Champions. He then started playing mind games with Seth with Firefly Fun House episodes. The Fiend won the Universal Championship from Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Universal Championship

Bray Wyatt and His Firefly Fun House soon moved to SmackDown as a part of the Draft. The Universal Championship then changed its color to blue as SmackDown being the blue brand. Wyatt then introduced the blue strapped Universal Championship belt at the Firefly Fun House segment. Bray Wyatt had a feud with Daniel Bryan and successfully defended his Universal Championship, which subsequently changed the persona of Daniel Bryan.

Bray Wyatt then wrestled for the first time as a Firefly Fun House host against The Miz at TLC pay-per-view and won the match. Bray Wyatt as The Fiend lost his first match against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, as a result lost his Universal Championship at Super ShowDown. The Fiend then had a feud with John Cena and challenged him for a Firefly Fun House Match at WrestleMania 36. The match was a surreal time travel, where they traveled to several historical moments of WWE and fought there. Wyatt won the match in a most cinematic way by pinning Cena at Day 2 of WrestleMania 36.

Alexa Bliss

Wyatt (Firefly Fun House Character) then challenged Braun Strowman for the Universal title at Money in the Bank, but lost at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. He then brought the “Eater of the Worlds” Character and challenged Braun Strowmen in a non-titled Wyatt Swamp Fight match at Extreme Rules. Alexa Bliss was injected into the storyline as a part of Bray Wyatt’s horror faction. Bliss teased her new gimmick for weeks and joined the Firefly Fun House. Bliss appeared on the Firefly Fun House segment with Bray Wyatt and featured multiple episodes. Bliss and Wyatt then had a feud with Randy Ortan and played a lot of mind games until WrestleMania 37. During the match between The Fiend and Randy Orton, Alexa Bliss distracted Wyatt and made Randy win and ended the alias with Wyatt. In July 2021 Bray Wyatt was released from WWE and ended the firefly fun house gimmick.

Return of Fireflies

In 2022 a QR code and white rabbit appeared on the WWE shows teasing Wyatt’s return. After weeks of teasing Bray Wyatt returned at Extreme Rules pay-per-view with a live version of Firefly Fun House characters and a new mask. He adopted a whole new character with multiple transformation persona alongside Uncle Howdy. He then brought the Firefly Fun House segments back with a “muscle man dance” promo in a feud with Bobby Lashey. The match was supposed to happen at WrestleMania but was dropped as Wyatt was injured personally and pulled off from television.
