5 biggest positives from Monday Night Raw this week

It's not always easy to find the positive in things and even when it is, there are also times when the negatives outweigh the positives. Although this week's edition of Raw didn't fall into that category, they started taking a noticeable slip in some of their content. A slip could hurt them after their controversial decisions at Extreme Rules.

Of course, WWE still delivered a great episode of Raw this week and should be applauded for what they came up with, but they also need to not fall into the trap of contentment. If they do end up doing that, however, fans will eventually shift to other viewing habits and the company's trend of good booking will go again.

With that being said and the WWE Universe probably needing an eye-opening experience on why they should stay for the long haul, here are five positives from this week's edition of Raw. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to let us know what you thought the best part of Raw was!

#5 Had Becky Lynch on television

Becky Lynch survived an End of Days from Baron Corbin!

Becky Lynch suffered an End of Days at the hands of Baron Corbin at Extreme Rules and it caused a lot of fans to wonder what will happen next. While WWE ultimately decided not to capitalize on the interaction last night between Corbin and Lynch, they did, in fact, have her make an appearance.

Again, some might see that as insignificant, but after watching women repeatedly be relegated to the damsel in distress role in the company for so long, it was so nice to see Lynch stand tall the next night. It was also proof positive that WWE is unwavering in their support and trust in Lynch, which could lead to a lengthy title reign.

#4 24/7 Championship segment

Drake Maverick got cheated out of the title on Raw this week!
Drake Maverick got cheated out of the title on Raw this week!

Let's be honest here.

What WWE did with The 24/7 Championship on Raw was nothing short of bizarre and eyeball grabbing. Unfortunately for Drake Maverick, it was also supposed to be the moment where he and his wife consummated their marriage, but a surprise appearance from R Truth ruined all that

It might not have been the most tasteful thing the company could have done, and the payoff was kind of lackluster, but it's honestly nice that WWE is trying to flex their comedic muscles a bit. Beyond that, there were some legitimately funny moments throughout the skit and definitely a lot to build on in the future.

WWE needs to eventually transition the belt away from Truth and Maverick, but it is an interesting side piece in the mid-card for now. The company is also getting more creative with their scenarios for the new belt, which makes it fun to see what they will come up with next.

#3 Added a new layer to Brock Lesnar feud

Is Paul Heyman playing the role of a crooked booker on Raw?
Is Paul Heyman playing the role of a crooked booker on Raw?

It's no secret that the WWE Universe doesn't like the fact that Brock Lesnar is the current Universal Champion, but what if it's for the greater good? In fact, what if this is a grand scheme by WWE to blur the lines of fiction and reality once again? If nothing else, WWE might be doing something brilliant here and fans just aren't realizing it.

In all honesty, it seems like WWE is trying to paint Paul Heyman as the crooked booker of Raw who gives his star guy a bunch of perks. Of course, that might not seem like such a big storyline development on its own, but it all most certainly depends on what WWE is able to do with it from here.

Maybe Paul Heyman can start naming off random stipulations to help Lesnar in a match or maybe even cancel a big title fight to give his top guy some time to relax. That will allow the company to gain even more nuclear heat on Lesnar, and maybe even allow Heyman to backstab Lesnar when all is said and done.

Best for business, right?

#2 Didn't put Roman Reigns in the title picture

Roman Reigns still hasn't been put in the title picture!
Roman Reigns still hasn't been put in the title picture!

Believe it or not, WWE actually chose not to put Roman Reigns back into a main card title picture. The move is an interesting one since Reigns is supposed to be WWE's top guy, but it seems like they're afraid to push the gas pedal on it. Either that or they are saving it for later, which could very well be true.

Watching Roman Reigns accidentally take out Seth Rollins with a spear and then get eliminated was a huge highlight of the match. It instantaneously shocked the crowd on the same level as Kevin Owen's pipebomb last week and might have set the stage for the two to meet later on down the road.

Whether WWE will capitalize on the miscue remains to be seen and will depend on what aspects of the story the company is actually interested in, but it would be a very polarizing avenue to explore. It could even be what finally gives Roman Reigns a chance to make that highly demanded heel turn his career has needed.

#1 Finally debuted The Fiend

Bray Wyatt finally debuted as The Fiend on Raw!
Bray Wyatt finally debuted as The Fiend on Raw!

WWE finally debuted The Fiend.

Not only was it an absurdly brilliant use of special effects, but it was also a definite statement by Wyatt that he would be taken seriously. Of course, it came at the expense of Finn Balor, who took a Sister Abigail from Wyatt, but it seems like the ends justify the means on this one.

WWE needed to get Bray Wyatt on television as soon as possible and they needed him to make a statement on a popular superstar in the process. While this will definitely hurt Balor going forward, this isn't something he can't rebound from and will eventually be used the way he deserves to be.

In the end, it was a prominent start for Wyatt and also opens up the Pandora's Box of what this gimmick is capable of. In fact, it's interesting WWE would choose Balor as his first opponent.
