At the recent House of Hardcore VII event, former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio made a surprise appearance. During a scheduled match between Christian York and Brian Myers (former Curt Hawkins), York defeated Myers and Myers got angry. He cut a promo and refused to leave the ring and suddenly Ricardo Rodriguez made an appearance and introduced Del Rio to a big pop from the crowd.
Del Rio talked about being in the ECW arena for the first time ever and talked about his previous problems related to not being able to wrestle in US for one year (which are now sorted out, following an agreement with WWE). Del Rio said he was invited to House of Hardcore by Tommy Dreamer and that in HOH they aren’t sports entertainers, they’re wrestlers. Myers then tried to attack Del Rio but caught kicks from both Ricardo and Del Rio, who then applied the cross armbreaker and the crowd cheered yet again.
