Former WWE Superstar showed up in Chris Jericho's Inner Circle video package on AEW Dynamite 

In a direct parody of Cody Rhodes' video package for Full Gear, Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle released a video that mocked Cody and his family. The video also featured former WWE Superstar Virgil giving plaudits to Jericho. Though Virgil was using his old Soultrain Jones name, most WWE fans will still remember him from the 80s as Ted DiBiase's bodyguard.

Who is Virgil?

Virgil was the bodyguard of the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase during the late 1980s. He would accompany DiBiase to the ring carrying a bag of cash. DiBiase was known to flaunt his millions to the crowd, and even paid audience members to perform humiliating acts.

Eventually, Virgil turned on his former employer and had his best run with the company after beating DiBiase at WrestleMania 7.

Over time, Virgil was kept on the undercard and he eventually parted ways with WWE around 1995. He showed up in WCW during 1996 as part of the nWo as Vincent. While not proven, the name was supposedly chosen to mock Vince McMahon. He remained with the company until 2000.

Since then, he has appeared sporadically in WWE, Impact Wrestling, and other smaller promotions. It was only a matter of time before he did the same in AEW.

What was Chris Jericho's Inner Circle promo video about?

For the most part, the video is essentially mocking Cody Rhodes' video package from a few weeks earlier which hyped his upcoming bout against Jericho at Full Gear. The video doesn't spare anyone as it openly parodies Cody, his mother, and close associates. Virgil's inclusion was probably meant to mock Diamond Dallas Page's appearance in Cody's video.

Virgil had some good lines in the video. He said,

"I have known Chris since he was 12 years old. And he was driven back then as he is right now. I know who Chris Jericho is, the greatest of all time. Chris Jericho's talent is like the Olive Garden's breadsticks....Unlimited."

What's next?

The video was probably another example of how AEW has been using wrestling legends to great effect. The video itself was a straight-up parody, and Virgil's inclusion made all the sense in the world. It's going to be interesting how things turn out between Cody and Jericho at Full Gear.
