What’s the story?

During the recent installment of The Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran Professional Wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez weighed in on the current rumors of Indie superstar Keith Lee potentially signing with the WWE later this year.

In case you didn’t know…

Currently signed under Evolve Wrestling, Keith Lee is considered as one of the standout performers in today’s Independent circuit and is most notably known for his work on the American Indy circuit, for promotions such as Beyond Wrestling, AAW, and PWG, where he is a former one-time PWG World Champion.

The heart of the matter

After recently dropping the PWG World Championship to Walter, Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted the current rumors of Keith Lee potentially signing with the WWE could presumably be true after all. (H/T: Ringside News)

According to Alvarez’s speculation, he thinks that despite Lee suffering a devastating car accident during WrestleMania 34 weekend, there is currently a very strong possibility that we might just witness the former PWG World Champion jump ship to the WWE, sometime later this year, despite him taking some time-off in order to properly recover from all his injuries.

“I mean I presume Keith Lee is going to WWE, the other thing is and this may not have anything to do with it. I mean I haven’t seen any of his matches since WrestleMania weekend but he was in a car accident in WrestleMania Weekend. He was kind of banged up. I mean maybe he has some injuries and he’s taking some time off. He could be that but my gut is he’s probably going to WWE. But I don’t know so don’t report that.”

What’s next?

It should be noted that as of right now, Bryan Alvarez’s report is completely based on a speculation and only time will tell if Keith Lee does eventually sign for WWE or not.

Author’s Take

After recently losing the WWN Championship to Austin Theory and the PWG World Championship to Walter, it could very well lead to the possible speculation of Keith Lee signing with the WWE, because on the other hand, we did witness Zack Sabre Jr. drop all his Independent Championship belts during WrestleMania weekend in order to sign a contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling and maybe Keith Lee is also following ZSJ’s path as well.
