What's the story?

Rusev Day is not just a gimmick anymore, it is a sensation among members of the WWE Universe. Unfortunately for fans, Rusev Day may come to an end very soon.

Sportskeeda is the one-stop destination for latest WWE rumors and wrestling news.

As first reported by Wrestlingnews.co and later by Cageside Seats, Rusev will turn on Aiden English very soon indeed. He will have a singles push with Lana by his side.

In case you didn't know...

After a hot and cold run as a foreign heel, Rusev aligned with Aiden English in a comedy act that came to be known as Rusev Day. Because of the uniqueness of the act, it caught on immediately with fans chanting for 'Rusev Day' even at non-WWE events.

Recently, Lana has been brought into the mix and she has indicated that Rusev is being weighed down by his partner, Aiden English. Fans have been upset about this development and they've spoken about it on social media.

The heart of the matter

According to sources close to Wrestlingnews.co, Rusev Day will meet its end soon. Rusev will turn on English and go back to his 'ruthless persona'. It is also being speculated that Lana will return as Rusev's manager. And then begins a singles push for this talented Bulgarian powerhouse.

It is important to remember that this is only a rumour at this point. While a Rusev Day split is being teased, plans could always change based on just how over they are.

What's next?

Lana will compete on SmackDown Live this week to qualify for Money in the Bank. Rusev has already qualified for the big match. It remains to be seen if Lana too will qualify for such a grand stage!

Author's take

I really have mixed feelings about this. Rusev Day is over to a degree that few other things in WWE are, and I'm upset to see it dissolve.

I hope this rumour turns out to be false and every subsequent day continues to be celebrated as 'Rusev Day'!
