From the WWE Rumor Mill: Update on The Shield's opponents for TLC

Braun Strowman's next program could be fascinating

What's the story?

After the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, everyone in the world of professional wrestling was convinced that the Shield would reunite to feud with the Miztourage. However, during a recent appearance on Live Audio Wrestling, Dave Meltzer said that Braun Strowman could potentially end up as a part of The Shield's match at TLC.

In case you didn't know...

On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns defeated The Miz in a non-title match to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. However, The A-Lister and his minions, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas, launched a ruthless assault on Reigns after the bout.

The trio even mocked the Big Dog by performing the Shield's signature fist bump. Naturally, this tease drove the wrestling media into a frenzy.

The heart of the matter

Dave Meltzer insinuated that The Shield wouldn't face The Miztourage at TLC. "They may do something with [Braun] Strowman and put [the Miztourage] in that mix somehow. With the pay-per-view on [October] 22, they pretty much have to, on tomorrow night’s show, set this whole thing up," he added.

However, none of this information appears to be concrete, and it may end up being nothing more than pure speculation.

What's next?

TLC is set to take place on October 22, 2017, which means that card will start to take shape very soon.

Author's take

The Miz has been incredible on the microphone as of late, and his work with all three members of The Shield has been exceptional. While the addition of Braun Strowman to this concoction sounds like a good idea on paper, the Monster Among Men shouldn't take a loss at TLC.
