The opening match got a standing ovation; Kenny Omega ruined another major

For weeks, we'd heard that IMPACT Wrestling was ready to deliver one of the best matches of the year thanks to their stellar X-Division. They weren't blowing smoke, as Josh Alexander and TJP had a match of the year candidate.

Moose also faced off against Sami Callihan weeks before his IMPACT Wrestling World Title Match against Kenny Omega at Against All Odds. However, the question on everyone's mind was what would happen if Callihan won tonight?

All that, plus an IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Title Match, a Tables Match, and more on a loaded episode of IMPACT Wrestling.

For the first time, a match kicked off on Before The IMPACT and led into the main show. Josh Alexander defended his IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Championship against TJP in a 60-minute Iron Man Match.

IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Championship: TJP w/Fallah Bahh vs Josh Alexander (c) w/Petey Williams

Josh Alexander cautiously moved toward his challenger before grabbing hold of TJP's leg, sending him into the corner. Alexander and TJP traded holds in the opening minutes of this bout, both looking for a quick submission.

These technicians refused to give an inch, and it seemed for the first ten minutes that it would be even throughout. But Josh Alexander finally turned things in his favor when he began working over the arm. An arm wrench and a series of knees really wore down TJP.

The former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion surprised Alexander with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors that sent the titleholder to the floor. A slingshot dropkick rocked Alexander as he was distracted by Fallah Bahh, and TJP followed that with a tope atomico on the inside for a two-count.

TJP hit a leg DDT, jamming the knee of IMPACT Wrestling's Walking Weapon. With his target identified, TJP locked in on that left leg. Alexander caught his challenger's head in between his legs, and when TJP went to escape with a headstand, Alexander countered with a short piledriver of sorts.

They moved back to their feet, and Alexander nearly had TJP with the Divine Intervention. The challenger countered into an armbar but was blocked. Alexander spiked TJP with a series of German suplexes, dazing him.

When it seemed that TJP was about to mount a comeback, Alexander rolled him up for a surprise pinfall, the first in this IMPACT Wrestling Ironman match.

Josh Alexander pinned TJP for a 1-0 lead.

Both competitors got thirty seconds to prepare for the rest of this bout.

TJP caught Alexander in a cravate, but the champ managed to escape. Alexander regained his composure and sent TJP to the floor where the challenger crashed into the barricade.

He refused to get a count-out victory, though and chased TJP to keep up the pressure.

IMPACT Wrestling's Walking Weapon carried TJP up to the ropes but was caught by his challenger with an octopus stretch.

Alexander responded with a surfboard stretch through the ropes, nearly snapping TJP in half. The IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion was proving his worth at the top of his division, as he'd left one of the company's best in-ring talents in dire straights with over thirty minutes left in the match.

Despite all the punishment, Alexander couldn't get another fall over his challenger. TJP surprised Alexander with a flying crossbody and went back to the legs. An Indian Deathlock was synched in as Alexander was left smack dab in the middle of the ring and a long way to go to the ropes.

TJP released the hold before he could try, leading to both men slapping each other across the mouth. Alexander got another ankle lock in, but TJP made it to the ropes.

Alexander trapped his challenger in a stalling suplex, holding TJP up for a whole minute before dropping him for another two-count.

The IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion and his challenger traded a series of pinfalls, as TJP did his best to catch up to Alexander. Alexander refused to give up his shoulders but was trapped in a sharpshooter. TJP transitioned into the Muta Lock. Again, Alexander refused to submit. When TJP went for a heel hook, Alexander had to rush to the ropes.

Even on one leg, Alexander tossed TJP overhead with a German suplex. TJP's face bounced off the top turnbuckle from on high as we hit the forty-minute mark.

TJP caught Josh Alexander with a springboard crossbody. He hit a slingshot crossbody to the floor, driving the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion into the mat. Alexander countered a tornado DDT, spiking TJP onto the apron with a brainbuster.

Alexander set up for the Divine Intervention on the floor, but Petey Williams begged for him to stop. As Alexander relented, TJP slapped him across the face. Chris Sabin, Trey Miguel, and Petey all stopped Alexander from doing it again, allowing TJP to drive him into the steel ramp.

TJP crawled to the IMPACT Wrestling ring as Eddie Edwards, Alisha, Chris Bey, Rohit Raju, and the rest of the locker room began to come out to watch the rest of this masterpiece.

Alexander got through the ropes just before ten but he was left busted open. As he held himself up on the ropes, TJP rocked him with a running boot. The Mamba Splash failed as Alexander rolled away. TJP prevented a moonsault attempt and left the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion in the Tree of Woe.

Even in that exposed position, Alexander continued to slap the taste out of TJP's mouth. TJP washed the face with his boot and hit a high-impact basement dropkick. With that, TJP moved to the apron for a springboard DDT. Somehow it wasn't enough to put the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion away.

A chicken wing gutbuster connected, and again Alexander kicked out. They left each other down on the mat with a pair of clotheslines. With six and a half minutes left, TJP had to get two falls to pick up a win.

TJP escaped Divine Intervention and hit a Falcon Arrow. Again, not enough. Another running boot left Josh Alexander seemingly out cold. A second boot connected, but Alexander, seemingly out of pure instinct, trapped TJP in an ankle lock.

TJP shook off Alexander and hit the Detonation Kick. Alexander kicked out once again!

The Mamba Splash connected, but Alexander refused to give TJP a point. Alexander countered a Detonation Kick with an ankle lock. The challenger rolled through and was able to lock Alexander in an ankle lock of his own, adding in a grapevine for extra measure.

Alexander refused to tap, leading to TJP synching in the TJ Clutch. Alexander broke it simply by wrenching TJP's ankle.

With a minute left, TJP was caught in the ankle lock again. In the dying moments of original time, TJP got to his feet and countered into a pinfall, tying it up 1-1.

TJP pinned Josh Alexander leading to a 1-1 tie and force sudden death.

Both men stormed towards each other and fell forward as they threw wild haymakers, hoping to walk away with IMPACT Wrestling's workhorse title. Alexander fell to the mat but ducked a kick and standing Spiral Tap. The slam planted TJP for a moonsault, and Alexander earned a two-count. A powerbomb backbreaker connected for another close call.

Divine Intervention finally hit, and Josh Alexander managed to retain the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Championship.

Results: Josh Alexander defeated TJP via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling to end the match 2-1.

Grade: A+

The IMPACT Wrestling roster applauded as the two celebrated their incredible match in the ring.

The IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion was backstage where he was met by Eddie Edwards, Petey Williams, and challenger TJP. Scott D'Amore thanked TJP and Alexander for putting on that match. He said that he was proud to have two wrestlers like them on his roster, and who could blame him? That match was spectacular.

Josh Alexander stated that he was the standard-bearer and king of the mountain in IMPACT Wrestling. Until the World Title came back, he was on top.

Several X-Division stars came in when he left, asking D'Amore for a shot. Considering Alexander's words...King of the Mountain...maybe we'll see that return?

Tables Match: Rohit Raju vs Jake Something on IMPACT Wrestling

The Mocca Skin Manimal of IMPACT Wrestling nearly sent Jake Something through a table as he ducked a clothesline near the ropes. Jake pulled him over to the apron, looking to powerbomb Rohit Raju through the wood. Raju escaped and brought Jake back inside, taking him off his feet before going for a few chairs.

Jake knocked the chair out of Rohit's hand and battered him with elbows and clubbing forearms. Rohit countered another powerbomb, but Jake caught him going for the leaping flatliner. A hellacious clothesline nearly took Rohit's head off, and Jake followed with a big shoulder tackle in the corner.

Rohit countered the Black Hole Slam with a leaping double stomp before grabbing the chair. Jake was pelted with steel as the former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion drove it into his long-time rival over and over again. Divorce Court with a steel chair left Jake's left arm hanging by a thread.

As Jake fought back, he was cut off with a chair to the shoulder. A tilt-a-whirl into the crossface left Jake in major trouble, but since it was a Tables Match it didn't really matter.

Raju set up some chairs as Jake brought in a table. Rohit sent Jake face-first into the chairs, and a jumping knee/running knee strike left the big man nearly unconscious. As Rohit set up to knock Jake off the apron to the table below, Jake caught him with a big clothesline.

A low blow dropped Jake and IMPACT Wrestling's Desi Hitman finally got his opponent on top of the table. It was time for the dive. At least Rohit thought it was. Jake quickly got to the apron and stunned Rohit with a punch.

A superplex onto the chairs was blocked. Rohit's powerbomb failed, but he kicked the leg out of Jake, following up with a roundhouse to the head. As Jake found himself on top of the chairs, Rohit hit a diving double stomp. Jake struggled to get to his feet but managed to catch his long-time rival with the Black Hole Slam.

All he had to do was put Rohit through the table. He wasn't done, though. Another Black Hole Slam bounced Rohit hard off the mat. Raju got up and threw a chair at Jake's head, but Jake shrugged it off, spearing him through the table for the win on IMPACT Wrestling.

Results: Jake Something defeated Rohit Raju on IMPACT Wrestling.

At IMPACT Wrestling Against All Odds, Rosemary will challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship. The Demon Assassin cut a promo on her opponent before getting interrupted by Havok. The Kaiju Queen demanded another shot at Rosemary, and if she won she'd get the opportunity at Purrazzo. Rosemary agreed.

Rich Swann vs W. Morrissey on IMPACT Wrestling

Before Rich Swann could finish his entrance, the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion was assaulted by the giant W. Morrissey. Swann was launched into the barricades.

Swann caught Morrissey with some strikes inside the ring, but the former WWE star's one giant boot laid him out with ease. Before Morrissey could finish the job, IMPACT Wrestling security broke them up.

Results: No contest.

Morrissey went after the security team before taking a chair shot from Willie Mack. Morrissey seemed to be fueled by this. However, security seemed to be able to talk some sense into the monster, and Morrissey walked away.

Tonight, Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering will challenge again for the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Championships.

Before the match, Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K tracked down Ellering, asking her to be Tenille's partner instead. Grace scared them off as she and Ellering left.

IMPACT Wrestling's Most Professional Wrestler was backstage "training" Sam Beale, showing him the importance of a real look and entrance in the world of professional wrestling.

We learned that if Rosemary lost to Havok, Deonna Purrazzo would defend the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship in a Triple Threat. Purrazzo had to think of a plan before their match next week.

IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering vs Fire 'N Flava (c)

Former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace started things off with Tasha Steelz, nearly getting a three-count in the opening moments of the bout with a schoolboy.

Grace dominated Steelz, driving her into the ring post and spiking her with a piledriver in the middle of the mat. Rachael Ellering tagged in, following a slam from her partner with a running basement boot and running senton. Steelz again kicked out.

Tasha managed to get to her partner, and Hogan worked over the new IMPACT Wrestling signee. However, when Steelz was legal again, she lost control.

Grace tagged in and dropped Hogan with a sit-out powerbomb for a two-count. Kiera avoided a splash in the corner but was rocked with a big boot and running double knees.

A Vader Bomb from Grace and a springboard leg drop from Ellering would've gotten the pin, but the ref was distracted by Grace. Steelz caught Ellering with a codebreaker while the ref had his back turned. The IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Champions hit a neck breaker/diving double stomp combo for a near fall.

Ellering got back to her corner, and the challengers hit a Muscle Buster/powerbomb combo for a two-count. Steelz and Ellering fought on the floor while Hogan and Grace were in the ring.

After Steelz spiked Ellering with a DDT, Fire 'N Flava took advantage of the two-on-one situation. A sleeper brought down Grace, and Steelz dropped on top with a Frog Splash.

Results: Fire 'N Flava defeated Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Sami Callihan cut a promo on Moose ahead of their match tonight but was interrupted by The Invisible Hand to the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. Don Callis tried to get into Callihan's head but was scared off by The Draw. Callihan vowed to kick Moose's a** tonight.

Steve Maclin makes his first IMPACT Wrestling appearance

It looks like we have another new face in IMPACT Wrestling. Former WWE star Steve Maclin (aka Steve Cutler) will be making his way to the promotion soon.

At IMPACT Wrestling Against All Odds, Fire 'N Flava will put their gold on the line against Kimber Lee and Susan.

Deaner w/Violent By Design vs Satoshi Kojima on IMPACT Wrestling

Kojima withstood Deaner's onslaught and bowled him over with a big shoulder tackle. Deaner managed to take down the living legend, though, and aimed to weaken him for Joe Doering ahead of Against All Odds.

Kojima responded with a series of chops to Deaner and ran him down with a big running forearm. Kojima moved up for a diving elbow drop for a two-count. A brainbuster spiked Deaner for another nearfall. As Kojima set up for his clothesline, Rhino distracted the ref. Deaner and Joe Doering looked set to team up on Kojima, but he was saved by Eddie Edwards.

While Edwards held Doering off, Kojima dropped Deaner with Koji Cuter. The lariat laid out Deaner for the pin.

Results: Satoshi Kojima defeated Deaner via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B-

Don Callis ran into Mr. IMPACT Wrestling backstage, hoping to get both men to tear each other apart. Moose cut him off after a few minutes, saying he stopped listening after, "Hey, baby how's it going?"

He told Callis to send Kenny Omega a message. Keep that IMPACT Wrestling World Title warm for him.

Violent By Design was furious at former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Eddie Edwards for costing Deaner his match. Decay interrupted, laughing at the group for their failures.

As someone that was trained by Eric Young, Crazzy Steve was confused as to why the World Class Maniac would choose him.

Following that, he challenged Violent By Design to an IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Title Match at Against All Odds, with Deaner as one of the men defending the gold. Young accepted.

Moose vs Sami Callihan on IMPACT Wrestling

Sami Callihan sent Moose to the floor early, launching his body like a rocket into Mr. IMPACT Wrestling several times and taking him to the barricade. Moose responded with a boot and looked to powerbomb Sami onto the steel steps. Callihan got to the ropes but was powerbombed onto the apron instead.

Callihan avoided a spear into the barricade, sending Moose shoulder first into the steel. The Draw of IMPACT Wrestling wrapped Moose's arm in between the bars and hoofed it with a boot, leaving the latter screaming in agony. Callihan wrapped Moose up in an armbar as we cut to the final commercial break of the night.

Back in the ring, Callihan took Moose off the top rope for a death valley driver. Moose kicked out and took Callihan up for a superplex, one-armed. Callihan targeted the weakened limb and headbutted Moose, sending him careening to the mat. Before Callihan could dive off, Moose leaped to his feet and rushed up for the superplex, getting a near fall.

Callihan countered Lights Out with a pump kick. Moose stunned Callihan sitting on the top turnbuckle with a dropkick, following up with Go To Hell. It wasn't enough, as the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion kicked out. Callihan avoided another spear and set up for the Cactus Special with Moose's weak arm trapped.

Moose was spiked but kicked out. Callihan looked to follow up with the Package Piledriver, only to be attacked by The Good Brothers.

Results: Sami Callihan defeated Moose via DQ on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B+

As the former IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions attacked Callihan and Moose, IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega strolled down to the ring. Omega, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows took turns driving their heels into the bodies of both men.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore ran down Don Callis while Omega and The Good Brothers left. Since Callihan was attacked first, technically he won by DQ. With that, it looked like Callihan was added to the IMPACT Wrestling World Title Match at Against All Odds.

Don Callis revealed that Callihan was on Tony Khan's blacklist, but D'Amore said that he'd already talked to Khan. Khan will be at IMPACT Wrestling to discuss Sami's involvement in the match next week.
