MITB 2010
In the main event of Money in the Bank 2010, Sheamus defended his WWE Championship against John Cena inside a Steel Cage. The match saw both men hitting their signature moves, but things took a chaotic turn when The Nexus tried to interfere. Despite Cena locking in the STF and Sheamus tapping out, the referee was down and didn’t see it. As Nexus caused more trouble, Sheamus managed to climb out of the cage and escape through the crowd to keep his title.
MITB 2011
In the main event of Money in the Bank 2011, CM Punk challenged John Cena for the WWE Championship, with Vince McMahon threatening to fire Cena if he lost. Despite Cena hitting two Attitude Adjustments, Punk stayed in the fight and later hit his Go To Sleep, knocking Cena out of the ring. When McMahon and John Laurinaitis tried to force a screwjob finish like in 1997, Cena refused to win that way and took out Laurinaitis. After that, Punk took advantage of the situation, landed a second Go To Sleep, and pinned Cena to win the title.
MITB 2012
The main event of Money in the Bank 2012 featured John Cena, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Kane, and The Miz fighting in a ladder match for a WWE Championship contract. Big Show dominated by destroying ladders and using a giant one, but everyone teamed up to keep him down. In the end, Cena used the briefcase to block Big Show's punch, and as he pulled it down, the handle broke off, which declared Cena the winner.
MITB 2013
John Cena defended the WWE Championship against Mark Henry at MITB 2013. Cena was locked in the STF, but Henry nearly made it to the ropes. Henry was forced to tap out when Cena pulled him back and reapplied the hold. Cena kept his title with the win.
MITB 2014
John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and other top stars took part in a ladder match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the MITB 2014. The match was filled with big moves, including Sheamus dominating for a stretch and Reigns hitting Spears and Superman Punches on multiple opponents. Attitude Adjustments were delivered by Cena to Orton and Kane in the end. He then climbed the ladder to win the titles and become the new champion.
MITB 2015
In MITB 2015, NXT Champion Kevin Owens faced United States Champion John Cena in a match filled with counters and finishers. Cena traded multiple Attitude Adjustments and a pop-up powerbomb from Owens. Cena finally pinned Owens with a third AA. Owens attacked Cena with a powerbomb on the ring apron after the match before leaving the ring.
MITB 2016
AJ Styles took on John Cena 2016 MITB. Both stars hit their signature moves, but neither could put the other away. The referee was accidentally knocked out near the end, allowing Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to interfere and deliver a Magic Killer to John Cena. They placed Styles on top of Cena, and when the referee recovered, he counted the pin and the win.
