The Mayor of Knox County, TN, Glenn Jacobs, recently appeared on the Busted Open Radio to promote his brand new book 'Mayor Kane: My Life in Wrestling and Politics'. Jacobs, popular with the WWE Universe as Kane, discussed how Vince McMahon reacted to his decision of running as the mayor, influence of wrestling in his political career, and several other topics during the session.

Support from Vince McMahon

While he was still under contract with WWE in 2017, Kane announced that he would run for the mayoral race in Knox County, Tennessee. As a result, The Big Red Machine took a hiatus to gear up for his political career.

WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, also played a pivotal role in Kane transitioning to politics. According to the former WWE Champion, McMahon was one of the very few people that got to know about his career transformation in the first place.

Absolutely. He was one of the first people I talked to about it because I had to have his support, of course, because I was still with WWE. (H/t: Wrestlinginc)

Jacobs revealed that McMahon was very supportive of his decision and wanted him to succeed in his new venture.

Here's the thing, Vince wants people to be successful; whether it's in WWE or outside WWE because it helps his company. Also, we've had a long relationship so in my case he wanted me to be happy in doing what I wanted to do. When we spoke he had a big grin about it. He wants me to be as happy as I can be.
