Jey Uso and Roman Reigns have both commented on a new heel faction and we also have an update on Nikki Cross possibly missing tonight's show. We also take a look at possible plans for the WWE Championship match and a whole lot more.

Read on for our final look at rumors ahead of WWE Clash of Champions.

#6 Nikki Cross could miss WWE Clash of Champions

Bayley is set to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Clash of Champions later tonight. However, according to Dave Meltzer, it looks like Nikki Cross could be unavailable for WWE Clash of Champions.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said there was an asterisk on the SmackDown Women’s Championship match. Meltzer said that he had asked people in WWE regarding whether Cross would be wrestling tonight, but was yet to receive an answer.

I don't know what's going on with that match. I guess we'll see tomorrow. There's certainly rumors about Nikki Cross who was not on television yesterday, on Friday. If she's there, she's there and if she's not there then she's not there. I asked this morning if she was going to be there and nobody got back to me which, you know, that's your answer, nobody got back to me.

We don’t yet have any confirmation regarding this match. Check out our full report about Nikki Cross possibly missing Clash of Champions HERE.

#5 Jey Uso teasing a new heel faction

Jey Uso is set to challenge his cousin Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship later tonight at WWE Clash of Champions. The Usos and Roman Reigns have been close since childhood and in a recent interview with talkSPORT, Jey Uso teased the possibility of forming a new heel faction alongside his cousin Roman Reigns.

The Bloodline will come on and off. That will always be there. But imagine us running that thing full-blown – and I would love to be heel – a heel faction. Hell yeah, bro! I wanna see some Samoan Swat Team 2.0 type of things, man. It’s written by itself, right?

In a recent Zoom call with fans, presented by The Mania Club, Roman Reigns also teased the possibility of a new faction in WWE alongside his cousins, The Usos.

Boy, you put me and my cousins, the girls, Joe as well, just based off the lineage, that's a tough group to dismantle. I mean, we just watched RETRIBUTION and The Hurt Business. We would squash them, all of them. You put them all together, we would squash them all.

#4 Possible title changes at WWE Clash of Champions

WWE Clash of Champions will see 9 title matches and the possibily the 24/7 Championship changing hands during the show. According to a report from Cageside Seats, we will see at least one title change at WWE Clash of Champions. However, no more than two title changes at maximum are expected.

There’s expected to be at least one title change at Clash of Champions, but it would be a surprise if there’s any more than two.

One title which is one of the favourites to change hands is the RAW Tag Team Championship according to the odds report from eWrestlingNews. At the time of writing, Angel Garza and Andrade are the favourites to leave WWE Clash of Champions as the new WWE RAW Tag Team Champions.

Another possibility for a title change is during the WWE Championship match. Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match at Clash of Champions. Check out more details on a possible title change in this match later on in this article.

#3 WWE’s possible plans for Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions

Roman Reigns has been on a hot streak since his return at WWE SummerSlam. The Tribal Chief quickly aligned with Paul Heyman and won the WWE Universal Championship a week later at the Payback PPV.

Reigns will now defend the WWE Universal Championship against his cousin Jey Uso. Dave Meltzer recently spoke about WWE’s plans for the match and here’s what he had to say:

Roman Reigns defends the Universal title against Jey Uso, a name brought in from left field. It seems improbable at this stage of the game that Reigns is losing to anyone, let alone somebody who has never had a singles push in his career and had been largely out of action since his brother was injured.

It looks like this could be a straight forward win for Roman Reigns, one where he could brutally beat his cousin up to establish himself as a remorseless heel. Of course, there is also the potential of seeing the Samoan faction we mentioned earlier either tonight or maybe later down the line.

#2 Roman Reigns to debut new ring gear at WWE Clash of Champions?

Roman Reigns recently spoke to WWE fans on a Zoom call presented by The Mania Club. During the interaction, Roman Reigns gave an interesting update on his ring gear and how it will change going forward. Reigns said that he was sticking to his pants but we would see him wrestling without a shirt or a tactical vest going forward, like we have become used to over the years in WWE.

I mean, I am not gonna go out there in trunks. I've been wearing a SWAT outfit my entire career so I'm just gonna stick to those pants. You watch this Sunday, you'll see me with my shirt off, so that would be the change... putting in some work, I'm not perfect, I'm not like a bodybuilder, so I'm not stage ready where you can see my spine through my abs but I feel confident enough to go out there and be a scary looking athlete. And God bless my cousin 'cause I'm gonna have to whoop him.

There has also been talk of Roman Reigns getting new entrance music but that will most likely happen further down the line.

#1 Possible plans for WWE Championship match at Clash of Champions

One of the marquee title matches at WWE Clash of Champions will see Randy Orton challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in an Ambulance Match. Orton and McIntyre have been feuding for a number of months now and this could very well be the final match of the feud, although that is not confirmed at this point.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer gave his thoughts on the Ambulance Match for the WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. Meltzer said that there has been talk of Randy Orton facing Edge for the WWE Championship at next year's WrestleMania, which could mean that there is definitely a chance that Randy Orton leaves Clash of Champions as WWE Champion. Meltzer said that the Ambulance Match could be a good way to protect Drew McIntyre from a loss if the aim is to get the title off him:

In addition, there was at least talk that the planned Orton vs. Edge match at WrestleMania this coming year would be for the title. The one thing the ambulance match does is it allows them to protect McIntyre from taking a pin while getting the title off him.
