Money in the Bank 2019: 5 Decisions that can cause a backlash among fans

Charlotte as the SmackDown Women's Champ again? Naah!
Charlotte as the SmackDown Women's Champ again? Naah!

WWE is heading towards the first PPV after the conclusion of WrestleMania 35 as the annual Money in the Bank PPV will take place on May 19, 2019, at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

WWE has already announced 8 matches for the PPV including the two Money in the Bank matches, one for the male superstars and one for the female. Following is the match-card for the PPV so far -

Seth Rollins (c) vs AJ Styles - Universal Championship

Kofi Kingston (c) vs Kevin Owens - WWE Championship

Men's Money in the Bank ladder match

Women's Money in the Bank ladder match

Becky Lynch (c) vs Charlotte - SmackDown Women's Championship

Becky Lynch (c) vs Lacey Evans - RAW Women's Championship

Roman Reigns vs Elias

The Miz vs Shane McMahon - Steel Cage Match

The card so far looks amazing, and if booked properly, Money in the Bank could be an amazing PPV. In order to achieve that, there are certain things WWE should avoid doing at the PPV. These decisions can surely turn many fans against them, and with AEW's Double or Nothing PPV scheduled a week after MITB, WWE would surely not want to lose their fanbase and help the competition.

In this article, let's take a look at the 5 Booking Decisions at MITB 2019 that can cause a backlash among fans. Do let us know your thoughts and opinions on the same.

#5 Seth Rollins and AJ Styles not getting enough time for their match

A dream match we all were waiting for!
A dream match we all were waiting for!

Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles is a dream match for each and every fan of pro-wrestling. Being two of the best wrestlers in the world right now, there's no doubt that these two are capable of putting up an instant classic inside the ring at Money in the Bank.

But to build up a solid match, you need to invest time in building it up. The last thing fans would want to see is these two superstars not getting enough time at the PPV to live up to their capability. They should get a decent amount of time for their match, at least 20-25 minutes. While I highly doubt we'll see a clean finish to this match, but nonetheless I'm excited to see these two finally go one-on-one.

#4 Kofi Kingston losing the WWE Championship

Kofi deserves a decent run with the title!
Kofi deserves a decent run with the title!

Kofi Kingston managed to do the unthinkable at WrestleMania, thanks to the enormous support of fans and the whole roster, as he defeated Daniel Bryan to win his first WWE Championship after a wait of almost 11 years.

With KofiMania's side-effects still visible, it won't be a good idea to make him drop the title to Kevin Owens at Money in the Bank in his first title defense. Nothing against Owens, he's one of my favorites on the main roster, but it's Kofi's time and he should have a long reign with the title before dropping it.

#3 Alexa Bliss becoming two-time Miss Money in the Bank

The Goddess had her moment last year!
The Goddess had her moment last year!

Last year, Alexa Bliss won the second ever Women's Money in the Bank ladder match and shocked everyone later that night by cashing-in during the RAW Women's Championship match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey and becoming the new RAW Women's Champion.

With her already having her moment last year, another MITB win for the goddess won't be a great decision. There's no doubt that fans love her, but it's time for a new star like Bayley or Ember Moon to get a chance to shine.

#2 Baron Corbin winning the MITB ladder match

Not the MITB winner we want!
Not the MITB winner we want!

Firstly, I'm seriously happy to see WWE giving new stars like Mustafa Ali, Ricochet, and Andrade an opportunity to compete in the MITB ladder match and show the world how amazing they are. A match that'll involve so many ladders and high-flying action is a perfect way to make a new superstar who can amaze the fans with their athleticism and charisma inside the ring.

Out of all the competitors, if there's one guy who fans don't really want to see win the briefcase is Baron Corbin. Now I know he is a heel and we are supposed to hate him, but there's just too much better talent than him in the match who deserve to win the match more than him.

#1 Charlotte becoming the SmackDown Women's Champion again

She already is an eight-time Women's Champion in WWE!
She already is an eight-time Women's Champion in WWE!

In her relatively small career on the main-roster, Charlotte already holds the record for the maximum Women's Championship reigns in company's history with her being an eight-time Women's Champion.

While I agree to the fact that she is one of the best women wrestlers in WWE and all of pro-wrestling at this point, but there is a limit to pushing someone again and again. Fans have already started calling her the female version of Roman Reigns and if WWE puts the title again on her at MITB, that might just touch the boiling point for fans.

Becky Lynch is at the peak of her career right now and whoever will take the title from her is in for a not-so-pleasant reception from the fans, and while someone new like Ember Moon and Bayley will still not get so much heat, but Charlotte defeating her would turn everyone against her.
