Kofi Kingston challenges Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank this Sunday. It's a big title defense in the first pay-per-view with crowds back and the last pay-per-view before SummerSlam 2021.

There are a few ways the WWE Championship match could go, with either Lashley or Kingston walking out victoriously. Here are five possible finishes to the Bobby Lashley vs. Kofi Kingston WWE title match at Money in the Bank 2021.

#5. A big twist and a double turn involving Bobby Lashley and Kofi Kingston

A month-and-a-half ago on RAW, there were a few backstage segments where MVP teased Kofi Kingston joining The Hurt Business. It was similar to how the former tried to recruit Apollo Crews, but it didn't work in that instance.

It would be odd in one sense to see Kingston and Xavier Woods turn heel and join forces with MVP, but it would be a breath of fresh air on RAW. The Red brand has been lacking in top storylines and a match that had a double turn would possibly be the best course.

It's been a while since a double turn has happened in WWE and when done right, it's always memorable. The idea of Bobby Lashley as a babyface now seems odd, but perhaps his lengthy heel run of more than two years can help him become a better face.

As for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, one would think that a heel turn is long overdue. It speaks volumes about The New Day's talent when looking at how they've managed to maintain a popular babyface status for over five straight years now.

There was a time in late 2016 when fans were getting tired of their soon-to-be record-breaking Tag Team Title reign, but after they lost the titles, there was hardly even a tease of a heel turn.

The New Day hasn't formally broken up, but with Big E on SmackDown, they seem to be a separate unit, unlike before. Maybe WWE intentionally dropped the MVP-Kingston tease on RAW so they could use it later in a big swerve.

This would mean that MVP would turn on Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank, making Kofi Kingston the new face of The Hurt Business while Xavier Woods takes a role in the faction as well. Will this be the best possible outcome?

#4. Bobby Lashley squashes Kofi Kingston

If Kofi Kingston isn't going to win the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, this is the best option. It all depends on how much longer WWE plans to invest in Bobby Lashley as the World Champion of RAW.

The best direction would be for him to win and set up a dream clash with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, but that doesn't look likely. However, with Lashley having a bit of a skid on RAW, the best outcome of the storyline would be for him to decimate Kingston - not in the same way that Lesnar did, but in a one-sided match that lasts a little longer.

#3. Kofi Kingston beats Bobby Lashley thanks to Xavier Woods

Xavier Woods has had a big role in the storyline between Kofi Kingston and Bobby Lashley. At first, he was squashed in a Hell in a Cell match on RAW and subsequently brutalized, fueling the fire of the storyline.

However, on the RAW before Money in the Bank, he pulled off a shocking upset against the WWE Champion. While it wasn't a good decision by any means, what's done is done. Lashley could lose via interference and Woods could be the one to cost him the WWE Championship.

#2. Kofi Kingston pulls off a shocking clean win

If done right, Kofi Kingston winning clean would be incredible. While it wouldn't have been without a crowd, it can be special since there will be a crowd. What he needs to do is put on the best match possible.

Great yet simple storytelling from both men would be if Bobby Lashley is thoroughly dominating the match, only for Kingston to capture the right moment and defeat The All Mighty clean.

This would likely lead to a transitional reign for the New Day member, but since crowds are present, it has the potential to be a special moment.

#1. Kofi Kingston loses to Bobby Lashley on purpose

Bobby Lashley could defeat Kofi Kingston in a bit of an unconventional way at Money in the Bank 2021. In what could be the biggest twist in months, Kingston would voluntarily lose to Lashley.

Rather than having the WWE Champion destroy Kingston at Money in the Bank, the latter would be protected by voluntarily taking the pinfall. The objective, of course, would be for The New Day to join The Hurt Business and replace Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin on RAW. It would be interesting to see The Hurt Business 2.0 form unconventionally.
