WWE News: Tajiri coming to 205 Live

The Master of the Buzzsaw Roundhouse Kick will be competing in the Cruiserweight Division.

The Former Cruiserweight and the United States Champion is on his way to 205 Live

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Yoshihiro Tajiri is coming back to be in the Cruiserweight Division to compete on the Cruiserweight exclusive show 205 Live.The WWE released a video on their website hyping his eventual return to the Cruiserweight Division.


This confirms the rumours and reports that Tajiri signed to come back to the WWE on a full-time basis. Tajiri returned to the company in June of this year as a participant in the Cruiserweight Classic. He lost in the second round of the tournament against Gran Metalik; who went on to the finals of the tournament.

Tajiri’s return will increase the number of wrestlers in the Cruiserweight division to 17. All 17 competitors were competitors in the Cruiserweight Classic where the inaugural Cruiserweight Champion was crowned.

Though Tajiri has not held the New Era’s Cruiserweight Championship, he has held a different of the Cruiserweight Championship in WWE. The Cruiserweight Championship held by Tajiri in WWE was originally a product of WCW with a lineage that extends all the way back to Brian Pillman, who became the inaugural WCW Light Heavyweight Champion at Halloween Havoc 1991.

In addition to being a 3-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Tajiri was one of the last wrestlers to hold the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, was a former United States Champion, former WWE Tag Team Champion (known today as the Raw Tag Team Championships, and a former World Tag Team Champion with William Regal.

Tajiri has been wrestling for over 20 years and has wrestled in several notable promotions all over the world. In America, Tajiri has wrestled in TNA Impact Wrestling and  ECW. In Japan, Tajiri has won several championships such as Big Japan Pro Wrestling and Wrestle-1.

Tajiri is one of the several Asian wrestlers to compete for the WWE over the years. Other Asian wrestlers include Taka Michinoku, Antonino Inoki, Ultimo Dragon, and the current NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
