WWE News: WWE mentions John Cena vs Roman Reigns as one of WrestleMania 34's dream matches

WWE feel John Cena vs Roman Reigns is a dream match for next year’s WrestleMania

What’s the story?

WWE recently posted a video on their official website WWE.com featuring Monday Night RAW and 205 Live commentator Corey Graves examining dream matches and moments that may take place at WrestleMania 34 next year.

One of the four highlighted segments in the video was a dream matchup between Roman Reigns and John Cena.

In case you didn’t know...

After making his WWE main roster debut as a part of The Shield in 2012, Roman Reigns has become the company’s most ‘pushed’ Superstar as of today, headlining WrestleMania three years in a row – WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins; 32 against Triple H and 33 against The Undertaker.

On the other hand, much like Reigns, John Cena has been one of the most pushed WWE Superstars since his main roster debut against Kurt Angle back in 2002.

The heart of the matter

WWE posted a video titled ‘4 things we want to see at WrestleMania 34’ that lists the WWE’s dream scenarios for next year’s Mania.

The video includes a ‘Champion vs Champion’ match between WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar and WWE champion Randy Orton, Stephanie McMahon making her WrestleMania debut against Charlotte, Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch, an Attitude Era Battle Royal and the aforementioned matchup between John Cena and Roman Reigns.

What’s next?

Both Cena and Reigns emerged victorious out of WrestleMania 33, with Cena and Nikki Bella beating The Miz and Maryse in a mixed-gender tag team match and Reigns defeating The Undertaker in the main event of the evening.

Cena is currently on hiatus until the completion of his movie-filming obligations till June 9th. Meanwhile, WWE may book Reigns against Brock Lesnar or another big name for a future feud in the weeks to come.

Author’s take:

The elusive ‘Superman vs Superman’ match... Well, not really! The WWE has already completed the triple coronation of The Big Dog in the previous three editions of Mania (yes, I know Seth Rollins beat him and Lesnar at WM 31!).

Nevertheless, with the company teasing a potential Cena-Reigns tussle in New Orleans next year, it looks like they’re hoping for the 4th time to be the charm.

Regardless of whether or not this match actually gets booked for 2018’s Show of Shows, the fans would most likely rain down deafening boos when The Leader of the Cenation faces The Big Dog in the main event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Lousiana. And You Can Believe That!
