NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff - 3 Fantastic botches and mistakes you missed as part of the show

NXT's United Kingdom brand took over Cardiff tonight as part of their second live pay-per-view event which boasted all of their Championships on the line as well as a Last Man Standing match between Joe Coffey and Dave Mastiff.

Cesaro was also part of the show since he made his way to Wales to issue an open challenge, which only added to the history that was made on the night since new Tag Team Champions and a new Women's Champion was crowned on the night. It's the first time any WWE Championships have changed hands in Wales as well as the first-ever Welsh Champions since Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster are now the Tag Team Champions.

It was a fantastic night for the United Kingdom as NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff definitely delivered, but even though the show was everything the company hoped for, there were a number of botches that may have gone unnoticed throughout.

#3 Kay Lee Ray lands on her head

The Women's Championship match pitted former friends Toni Storm and Kay Lee Ray against one another, but even though the two women were somewhat familiar with one another, their match was one of the low points of the night.

The crowd were dead throughout the match and after Kay Lee Ray picked up the win off a Gory Bomb and won the NXT UK Women's Championship from Toni Storm, you could hear a pin drop inside the Motorpoint Arena.

Mid-way through the match there was a scary moment when Kay Lee Ray made her way to the top rope and went for a swanton on the outside. Storm was out of position and because of this Ray landed on her head off the move, the commentary team even made a point of stating just how dangerous the landing was and how lucky Ray was not to be injured from it.

#2 Joe Coffey falls off the rope

Joe Coffey collided with Dave Mastiff in Cardiff earlier tonight in a Last Man Standing match which saw both men throw everything they had at one another, so much so that the top rope actually broke off at the beginning of the match.

The fact that the ring broke obviously caused a few issues for Joe Coffey since he later headed up towards the top rope and then shockingly slipped and fell back onto the mat. While it was one of the more hilarious botches of the night in a match it was certainly one of the most brutal ones.

Despite the fact that he took quite a beating with a chair, cricket bat, chain and part of the ring, Coffey was still the man who came out on top when he was able to use his wits and kick the pipe out from under Dave Mastiff as he attempted to make his way up to beat the 10 count.

This obviously means that the feud between the two men is far from over and the next few weeks of the show could see this rivalry become even more brutal.

#1 That dangerous powerbomb

Tyler Bate was looking to become the first-ever two-time United Kingdom Champion in the main event of Takeover: Cardiff, but since he was up against Walter, it was quite obvious that it was going to be an uphill battle for the first-ever Champion.

The match was as hard-hitting as expected and saw Bate escape serious injury when Walter picked him up and looked to powerbomb him into the ring post but this move came up short and Bate ended up just hitting the post with his head so medical staff had to be called over to check that he could continue.

The commentary team even stated that the move came up short and Bate was lucky not to have been injured by the move since he later went on to have a fantastic match against the United Kingdom Champion, which would have been the match of the night if it wasn't for the fact that the Champion botched a powerbomb.

Walter was able to retain his Championship after a 40 minute match against Bate where the inaugural Champion pushed him to his limit but he was still able to prove that he deserved to be at the top of the United Kingdom division.
