Opinion : Batista must retire Triple H at WrestleMania 35
The Animal, Batista made his shocking return to WWE TV last week on RAW when he cancelled Ric Flair's birthday bash to send a message to Triple H. Both the members of Evolution earlier had a confrontation on SmackDown 1000 but Ric Flair cooled them down.
However, last week Batista took Ric Flair out of the picture by beating him backstage. He also asked for Triple H's attention before disappearing. This week on RAW, Triple H gave a superb reply to Batista to officially kick off this WrestleMania feud.
The two icons will clash one last time at WrestleMania 35 and this match will garner a lot of mainstream attention towards the grandest event of WWE, the build-up to which has received a lukewarm response from the WWE Universe by now.
This feud has the potential to cross all the limits and break multiple records if booked properly. Thus far, it looks like we would get a normal singles match between the two legends but if the WWE has long term plans for Batista, they must add a stipulation to this match to raise the stakes.
In my opinion, WWE should add a retirement stipulation to this match. The loser of this match will have to retire from in-ring competition with immediate effect. With Batista's contract details not public yet and so, this would add an element of unpredictability to this contest.
Once WWE announces it as a retirement match, this feud will grab all the attention at the Show of Shows. It's possible (though unlikely) that Batista has made his full-time return to WWE and hence will be having many matches in the WWE before saying a final good-bye to the industry.
On the other hand, Triple H has become rusty in the ring and his matches at Crown Jewel and Super Show Down were cringeworthy. The fans did not enjoy his matches. This should give Triple H a sign that it's time he calls it a day on his in-ring career before his status becomes like Kurt Angle.
Triple H should have a grand match at WrestleMania but it should end with Batista standing tall. The Animal could defeat Triple H once again but this time he will end his career. This could also lead us to a singles match between Batista and Shawn Michaels (if he is offered millions of dollars once again) at the international pay-per-view scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Also, Batista can take over the position of Brock Lesnar who may focus on UFC after dropping the Universal Championship to Seth Rollins.
Triple H could then concentrate on his role as the COO of the company and give the fans the quality product they deserve.
