Opinion: Why The Fiend doesn't need to change the color of Universal Championship

Bray Wyatt could make the red Championship work for him on SmackDown

The Fiend was able to defeat Seth Rollins last week at Crown Jewel, which means that he is now the holder of the Universal Championship and will take the title to SmackDown for the first time.

The Universal Championship has always been exclusive to Monday Night RAW, which is why the Championship is red and now there is speculation that Bray Wyatt could be looking to change the color of the Championship now its been moved over to the blue brand.

Last night on WWE Backstage, Bray Wyatt showed off the Championship in a special episode of The Firefly Fun House, but it appears that only his side plates have changed.

The color red may not fit in with SmackDown, but it does fit in with The Fiend's character, he wrestles under red lighting and his attire is red. Red is the color that makes the most sense, so the title doesn't need to change just because it has switched brands.

There are a number of fans who believe that a custom belt will be debuted on SmackDown on Friday night, but as long as it's now bright blue, it would fit in well with his current persona. There are images of belts that have been circulating online, but all of those are fake and one is from when WWE were going to give Wyatt a custom title when he was WWE Champion.

Gary and I discuss the future of Wyatt and whether or not they believe that he will change the look of the Universal Champion on Friday night as part of this week's episode of Dropkick DiSKussions, which can be viewed below...
