Predicting when Becky Lynch will drop the RAW Women's Championship

How long with The Man be RAW Women's Champion?
How long with The Man be RAW Women's Champion?

The Man Becky Lynch is currently on one of the best runs in the history of the WWE and it doesn't appear it's coming to an end any time soon. By the end of the week, Becky Lynch will cross the 200-day milestone as RAW Women's Champion. That's a feat that's only been accomplished two other times -- Alexa Bliss (222) and Ronda Rousey (232).

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Lynch will become the longest-reigning Women's Champion. She will tie Rousey's record the Monday after Survivor Series. Assuming it's RAW vs. SmackDown again, Lynch's title will not be on the line that night.

For obvious reasons, she will not defend her title at Crown Jewel either. So unless she loses it on RAW (which I highly doubt would happen) her next chance is at TLC in December. Or the yet to be announced, but still reportedly in discussion, Evolution PPV.

Would the WWE take the title off of her that close to WrestleMania season? Possibly. There's a lot of ways the company could go. Let's take a look at a few scenarios, shall we?

#1 A shocking upset before the new year?

Could a returning Liv Morgan shock the world?
Could a returning Liv Morgan shock the world?

I think a returning Liv Morgan would make the perfect TLC opponent for Becky Lynch. We haven't seen the former Riott Squad member since her loss to Charlotte Flair on SmackDown weeks ago.

She's been rumored to be debuting a new character upon her return. I would bet it's going to be soon too, considering she was actually drafted to RAW instead of being allowed to hit free agency. That makes me believe the company has plans for her.

A program with The Man would be a great way to establish Morgan as a singles competitor. However, I don't see her going over. Lynch's title reign has hit the point where her defeat needs to be special. If she's going to drop the title, it'll be at a bigger stage to someone a little more accomplished.

#2 Is the Empress of Tomorrow the Champion of the future?

Could we soon see Asuka 2 Belts?
Could we soon see Asuka 2 Belts?

Of all the options I'm discussing in this article, this is the match-up I'm most excited about. Asuka and Lynch had a Match of the Year level showdown at this year's Rumble. That was the last time we saw The Man lose clean as she tapped out to a modified version of the Asuka lock.

We saw the seeds planted on RAW two weeks ago that could set up a rematch down the road. Might as well have Lynch-Asuka II at the Royal Rumble. Our Steven Wilson wrote a piece last week explaining why The Empress of Tomorrow is the perfect challenger to dethrone The Man.

I can't say I disagree. Even the greats have that one opponent that just gives them fits. Hulk Hogan lost almost all of the time against the Ultimate Warrior.

That could be a storyline for years to come for Lynch.

Does WWE pull the trigger? I'll give it a 50-50 chance. Asuka could use a big win to solidify herself as a dominant force again. I can't help shake the feeling though that Becky Lynch would still come out on top.

#3 Does Nia Jax return to finish what she started?

Nia Jax and Tamina at WrestleMania 35
Nia Jax and Tamina at WrestleMania 35

Becky Lynch recently said she has no beef with Nia Jax. However, the same can't be assumed for Nia Jax. Jax seemed like a logical first opponent for Becky 2 Belts following WrestleMania. Unfortunately, she's been out of action since tearing her ACL in both knees in April. The history is still there between the two to revisit the feud when Jax is ready to go.

Of course, there was the infamous punch from Nia Jax last November that concussed Becky. That incident kept The Man out of Survivor Series and arguably propelled her to the main event of WrestleMania.

Lynch got her revenge at TLC when she attacked Jax backstage, and then again when she eliminated her in the Royal Rumble match.

Assuming she's back to full fitness, I'd have Jax attack Lynch after her successful title defense against Asuka at the Royal Rumble. That would set up a match with plenty of spice to add to either the Fastlane or Elimination Chamber card.

Does Jax get the win? No. I don't see it personally. It comes down to who would the WWE want to have as champion heading into WrestleMania and the answer for that would be Lynch in all probability.

#4 Will Ronda Rousey and The Man main event WrestleMania again?

Will Rousey win back the RAW Women's Championship?
Will Rousey win back the RAW Women's Championship?

Let's be honest, we all know this match is coming right?

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey is a match many fans want to see come to fruition. We have not seen Rousey since Becky (kind of) pinned her at WrestleMania 35.

I'm predicting Rousey to return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. It could happen in one of two ways. She can win the Rumble match, which would allow her to challenge Lynch for the title this year. Also, remember when I said Asuka had a 50-50 shot? What if The Baddest Woman on the Planet showed up to cost Lynch the Championship?

Lynch vs. Ronda does not need the title on the line to main event WrestleMania. There's enough history and heat there for the storyline to be successful without it.

That said I'm predicting the title will be on the line.

Does Rousey get revenge and the Championship? Yes. This is where I'm predicting Becky Lynch will drop the title. Day 363 of her reign. It would be fitting for Rousey to get the win via a crucifix pin, but I'd book a more decisive victory. I'd have Lynch refuse to tap out to the armbar, forcing Rousey to "break her arm".

The Man could then be written off TV for a while, giving her some much deserved time off.
