WWE News: Rhyno wins Michigan Republican Primary election for State House Representative

Rhyno is going through to the general election in November

WWE star Rhyno, real name Terrance Gerin, won the Michigan Republican Primary election tonight over Paul Sophiea and Richard Johnson, according to MLive.com.

Gerin defeated the two Republican opponents in the primary, winning by only 54 votes as of 11:30 p.m. Though he had the highest votes in total, he had yet to be officially named the Republican Primary winner. Gerin took 38% of the votes with 1,033, topping Sophiea’s 979 votes and Johnson’s 705 votes.

Gerin will now face Abdullah Hammoud, the winner of the 15th District Democratic Primary, in November's General Election. He is running to represent part of Dearborn in the Michigan State House. Rhyno chose to run for office under his real name, Terrance Guido Gerin.

Rhyno appeared last week on Smackdown, making his return to the main roster. He also appeared on the August 2nd edition of Smackdown, attacking Heath Slater with his trademark move – Gore. Prior to this, Rhyno had a stint in NXT for a large part of 2015, appearing on the main roster with his fellow ECW veterans to feud with the Wyatts, and also recently appeared in an NXT taping to take on Samoa Joe, albeit in a losing cause.
