WWE Rumours: Roman Reigns might move to SmackDown Live! with a redesigned US title

Roman Reigns after defeating Rusev for the United States Championship

As per the reports of third-party source Inquisitr, Roman Reigns may not leave Roadblock with two titles over his shoulder, and he shall continue his United States Championship reign with a redesigned belt, albeit with the blue brand SmackDown Live!

The same reports also claim that WWE CEO, Vince McMahon is not happy with the current design of the prestigious title and WWE may launch a redesigned belt, by the fall of 2017. This could be a major reason for not featuring the current belt as frequently on WWE television, ever since The Top Dog claimed the gold from the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev.

WWE might wait up till Wrestlemania to unveil the new belt, similar to their approach with the Women’s Championship in the previous edition of the paramount show. Reigns is expected to continue his reign for the foreseeable future and might face Braun Strowman for the title come Wrestlemania season in Orlando.

The match between the two goliaths of Monday Night RAW may prove to be beneficial for both the Superstars, as it further establishes the dominance of Reigns by overcoming a bonafide monster, all the while elevating Strowman from his current mid-card status.

Apparently, WWE wants to re-establish the prestige of the United States Championship, which has slowly faded into obscurity after the reign of John Cena. The company officials want a top face to hold the title, and the very face seems to be Roman Reigns at the moment.

With sources such as Forbes reporting the move of AJ Styles to the flagship show RAW in April, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Reigns headlining their blue counterparts with his US title.

While it was earlier reported by Givemesport that Reigns might walk out from the PPG Paints Arena, with two title belts, WWE might reconsider feeding Owens as a scapegoat to The Top Dog, for the greater good of the wrestling industry.
