A former WWE Champion may never get another World Title run as WWE reportedly has no plans to get him back into the main event picture anytime soon. A wrestler revealed a story from his WWE tryouts about how he nearly got kicked out because he tried talking to Triple H backstage.

Rob Gronkowski's reported WWE release has also garnered a lot of attention, and people backstage were reportedly not too happy with the 3-time Super Bowl Champion.

There is also an update regarding Brock Lesnar's WWE return.

We have another update about the new members who could possibly join Seth Rollins' faction on RAW.

Finally, Sportskeeda's very own Tom Colohue revealed many exclusive details about Drake Maverick's new WWE contract and everything that happened backstage in the past few weeks.

On that note, let's take a look at today Rumor Roundup in detail:

#5. Kofi Kingston may never become a World Champion again

Kofi Kingston's fairytale journey towards capturing his maiden WWE Championship and the subsequent reign will be remembered for years. However, it may end up being Kingston's only taste of World Championship glory.

As revealed by Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue on the most recent Dropkick DiSKussions podcast, WWE has no plans to get Kofi Kingston back in the main event scene for a while.

WWE may never book Kofi Kingston to be a World Champion again

Tom also revealed that the company had no plans to give The New Day Member another run with a World Title. WWE officials never intended to keep Kofi in the main event scene after he lost the WWE title to Brock Lesnar, and that's what has happened.

Here's what Tom revealed on the Dropkick DiSKussions podcast:

Kofi Kingston was a very powerful draw for a long time, and The New Day, in general, have that drawing power. Now to have them on neither, is very interesting. That said, RAW was owed a couple of trades, and they are very very lacking on the tag division. There is no plan to have Kofi Kingston in the main event of either show for a while yet, if ever again. So it would be the tag division he would go to, if he was to move. Even while Kofi Kingston was the WWE Champion, there were no plans to give him a second reign. There were no plans to keep him in the main event after he lost that title, and that's exactly what happened. The second he lost that belt, it was over. It is a crying shame to take someone that talented and drop him off the face of the earth.

#4. NWA Star Zicky Dice almost got kicked out of NXT out for trying to talk to Triple H

Sean Ross Sapp released a snippet of his interview with NWA star Zicky Dice on Fightful Select. The current NWA World Television Champion revealed an interesting story about his WWE Tryout from 2018.

Dice stated that he got many positive reactions from various people in the WWE, including producers, and he was also backstage at NXT during the week of his tryouts.

However, it was revealed that Dice almost got kicked out when he attempted to talk to Triple H.

SRS revealed the following on Fightful Select:

The interview will drop today, but we heard an interesting story from Zicky Dice about his WWE tryout in 2018. He told us that it went really well and he got positive reactions from a lot of the producers. However, when he went to NXT that week, he almost got kicked out for even trying to talk to Triple H.

Triple H is the man that runs the show in NXT, but he is apparently not always as approachable as he may seem. Maybe there is an unwritten rule about unsigned talents not being allowed to talk to Triple H? We really don't know! It's an interesting story, nonetheless.

#3. Brock Lesnar's WWE return

Brock Lesnar has not been seen on WWE TV since WrestleMania 36 where he dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre. The Beast Incarnate, however, could be nearing his WWE return date.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that the WWE might get Brock Lesnar back at SummerSlam even if there is no crowd at the PPV.

The story of WWE planning to get Brock Lesnar back for SummerSlam was first reported by Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue a week ago. Tom stated that WWE hopes to have the fans back for SummerSlam, and they will go all guns blazing by most likely booking Lesnar in a big match at this show.

The only difference is that WWE may not even wait for the crowds to return and still go ahead with the scheduled comeback of Brock Lesnar.

Tom stated:

"In news for the summer around August time, the WWE, with now everything changing as per state by state, as per the COVID-19 pandemic, the WWE is feeling optimistic that August might be in time to have the crowds back and have a show at an arena. Brock Lesnar has been penciled in for an appearance if they are able to open in time for SummerSlam. We may be seeing The Beast Incarnate back sooner than we think."

#2. Update on more members being added to Seth Rollins' faction

Seth Rollins's run as the Monday Night Messiah has undergone many changes since its inception, but the former WWE Champion finally has a promising group of Superstars to lead. The group of Seth Rollins, Murphy, and Austin Theory is set to be the top faction on the Red brand. However, there could be more disciples on the way.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue was the first to report that Seth Rollins has pitched several names to the WWE regarding new members who could join his stable.

Tom revealed on the latest edition of the Dropkick DiSKussions podcast that the decision to add more members to Rollins' group lies in Paul Heyman's hands.

Rollins apparently wants his group to feature fresh and talented Superstars who would benefit from the limelight and gain some much-needed experience.

Seth has pitched quite a few names, and at this point, it's essentially up to Paul Heyman. He wants to bring in someone new, quite fresh, and help them develop. It could even be someone like Humberto Carrillo, of course, to really help him develop. But there are quite a few people. He's very proud of what he's been able to accomplish. I certainly would be too, and I would laugh so hard if it ends up being Roman Reigns.

#1. Exclusive details on Drake Maverick's re-signing with WWE

youtube-cover

Drake Maverick was handed a new WWE contract at the end of the most recent NXT episode by Triple H. Even though he couldn't capture the Cruiserweight title, the former 205 Live General Manager completed a satisfying feel-good story.

Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue revealed many details about Maverick's new contract in an exclusive report.

The original plan, as of April 15th, was to book Maverick to lose many matches and act as an enhancement talent in the Cruiserweight Championship tournament. The plan was to give Kushida a significant push in the tournament. However, the situation changed after Maverick began to get the fans' overwhelming support following the emotional video he released after his WWE release.

Tom noted that as fan support grew, WWE altered the bracket, and at the same time, they offered Maverick a new contract. WWE reportedly offered Maverick a new deal two weeks back and the Superstar will make less money than his previous deal.

WWE has also reportedly offered deals to several other released talents deals to return to the company. However, as of this writing, Drake Maverick is the only talent who has been officially re-signed. WWE has not offered deals to released stars from NXT but Drake Maverick's signing on the Black and Gold brand is an exception to the rule.
