In today's edition of the WWE Rumor Roundup, we take a look at the top stories of the day. There are some interesting feuds planned by WWE while Matt Riddle reveals what happened when he met Brock Lesnar backstage.

One veteran wrestler has blamed Nia Jax for Kairi Sane's injury while we have a big update from Roman Reigns regarding his return to WWE. All this and more after getting past the two headline-makers of the day:

#5. How Vince McMahon insulted The Revival backstage

The Revival, now known as FTR, have revealed that Vince McMahon tried to insult them backstage after a match with The New Day in WWE. The new AEW signings were vocal about their stint in WWE and spoke about how they were not understood by the WWE Chairman.

Speaking on Jim Cornette's podcast, Dax Harwood (fka Scott Dawson) revealed that Vince was not convinced by their talent and once said that they were nowhere near Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. He reportedly said that everyone was calling them the next big things in tag-team wrestling but they were nowhere close to that. Dax said:

We had a match with New Day. We were so... all four of us came to the back, we were so proud of this match, and we loved it so much. We were happy because it wasn't an action-packed match, it was a match that told a great little story. The fans got behind it and they loved it. We came to the back and Vince was waiting right in the middle of the Gorilla with his hands in his pocket.
One thing I'll never forget he said, he looked at me and Cash and he said, "Everyone tells me you are the next Arn and Tully, you're the next great tag team. Well, that's the problem, you guys aren't Arn and Tully, you're just great professional wrestlers." And to me and Cash, we took that beaming with pride, he meant it as an insult. So I'm thinking to myself, ''So you're comparing us to two of the greatest of all time who have drawn a s**t-ton of money in this business and you're meaning that as an insult?"

#4. Big feud planned for Brock Lesnar

WWE are reportedly planning for a Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar feud soon. The former Universal Champion is expected to return in time for SummerSlam, and Sportskeeda's very own Tom Colohue has spoken on the topic. He reports that the two former MMA stars will be involved in a storyline soon.

I do know that there is a desperate need among some parts of the executive level in the WWE to get the Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar match coming. And as I have reported here previously, Brock Lesnar has been penciled in for an appearance around SummerSlam, which means it is certainly possible that we are going to get that match.

As for the title, Colohue adds that there is no need for the two to be fighting for the WWE Championship and thus, McIntyre might be retaining it at Backlash. The Scottish Psychopath might go up against The Undertaker in the future!

With that said, I don't think that match requires the WWE Championship; it depends more than anything on what they have in line for McIntyre. McIntyre may be due against Lashley for a rematch, McIntyre may be going against Lesnar or, as I have mentioned it previously, I do maintain the hope, that McIntyre may be going up against The Undertaker.

#3. Nia Jax to blame for Kairi Sane's injury says veteran wrestler

Nia Jax
Nia Jax

Kairi Sane got injured during her match against Nia Jax on Monday Night RAW this week. She had a wide cut on her head after she hit the steel steps in a spot during the match.

WWE reportedly edited the match to avoid showing the extent of the injury, but reports claim that it was stopped for some time. One anonymous WWE employee, via a text to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer, was highly critical of Nia Jax for the injury caused to Sane and claimed that she should be fired from WWE.

Now, Dave Meltzer has revealed that a veteran wrestler also shared his view on the incident. He claims that the wrestler blamed Nia Jax for the injury and said:

"She didn't whip her, she grabbed her by the head and threw/shoved her. It was 100% Nia's fault. She never let Kairi find her balance after pulling her out of the ring, she then pushed her head down so Kairi would be unable to see and then threw her forward hard head first off balance towards the steps. Kairi has zero chance."

#2. Roman Reigns on his comeback

Roman Reigns has been off WWE TV since March and was not a part of WrestleMania. He was scheduled to go up against Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship but chose to opt-out because of the pandemic situation.

Reigns revealed that he wanted to stay with his family and ensure their safety because his wife was pregnant at that time. There is no real timeline for his return right now and while talking to WWE, he did not hint at a quick return. He said: (h/t: Wrestlingnews for the quotes)

All of this security that I have in my life now to be able to protect my family to be comfortable is because of our fanbase. I just wanted you all to know that I’m so thankful… grateful for everything that I’ve been able to earn and all of the experiences that I’ve been able to go through because it’s been an amazing ride. I can’t wait to get back to normal and entertain on a weekly basis

#1. Matt Riddle heartbroken after Brock Lesnar confrontation

Matt Riddle has revealed that he was left heartbroken by Brock Lesnar at the WWE Royal Rumble. He claims that the Beast Incarnate made it clear that they will never work together and thus end Riddle's dream of facing the former WWE Champion.

Riddle was talking to talkSPORT when he spoke about the confrontation he had with Lesnar at WWE's first pay-per-view of the year.

“So, I wasn’t mad, I wasn’t sad, I was more just heartbroken. But it’s like when a girl turns you down on a date; hey, it doesn’t mean give up completely. It’s like OK, let’s go back to the drawing board, maybe I came on a little too strong this time. Maybe I’ll try something different to convince him, ya know? So that’s how that scenario played out.

He adds that Paul Heyman made sure the two were never in the ring together at the Rumble as well and that is why Riddle made it to the ring long after Lesnar was eliminated by Drew McIntyre.
