Tessa Blanchard makes history, set to challenge for IMPACT World Championship

Tessa Blanchard's greatness can't be denied
Tessa Blanchard's greatness can't be denied

IMPACT Wrestling has delivered some pretty incredible matches and storylines over the past year. The fall of LAX, the brotherhood dissolving between Rich Swann & Sami Callihan, and most importantly, the rise of the Undeniable Tessa Blanchard.

Tessa Blanchard and Sami Callihan own 2019

When it comes to the best matches of 2019, it's gonna be difficult not to bring up Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard's incredible war from Slammiversary XVII. Pitting one of the most disgusting villains against someone just trying to prove they're just as good as everyone else in the business was a stroke of genius done at just the right time.

Cut to four months later, and The Draw is now the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. Tessa Blanchard has been a constant thorn in his side, and he's tried his best to distance himself from the former Knockouts Champion. However, he was never able to shake her.

Tessa Blanchard crowned #1 contender

On the latest episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Tessa Blanchard won a six-man gauntlet match to become Sami Callihan's #1 contender. This hour long brawl included the best talent the company has to offer. Moose, Michael Elgin, Daga, former X-Division Champion Rich Swann, and former World Champion Brian Cage battled for a chance to tear the title away from the Draw's hands.

At the end of the night, though, Blanchard was able to roll-up Cage following two Magnums, knocking off the previous champion as she ascended the ladder. With that, Blanchard has become the first woman to ever become the #1 contender for IMPACT's World Championship.

We'll continue this feud of one-upsmanship when Tessa Blanchard challenges the Callihan Death Machine for the world title at Hard to Kill on January 12th!
