The time has come to bid adieu to 2019, the year which will always be remembered for the unforgettable moments witnessed in the world of sports entertainment. The year saw the rise of AEW as Cody Rhodes and the company commenced their journey in a spectacular fashion. Quite a few former WWE Superstars joined hands with AEW which include the likes of Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, and more.

Despite the departure of a few big names, the company still managed to fend off any challenges put in front of them simply because when it comes to sports entertainment then there is only one king in the jungle i.e. WWE.

It is fair to say that the company had a great year in 2019 but what about the Superstars? Who all were responsible for WWE's massive success? Which way does the individual achievement sheet direct us? Or to put it straight, who were the top 10 Superstars for the year 2019. It is not just the question about who raked in more money or won more championships but who contributed the most and whose highlight reel will be played on repeat.

Here we list down the top 10 WWE Superstars for the year 2019:

The 'Phenomenal One' is undoubtedly one of the most talented Superstars to have ever stepped foot inside the sacred squared circle. His in-ring prowess is second to none and it's no secret that AJ Styles is one of the most respected names in the world of sports entertainment.

Styles had a decent year in 2019 which saw him defeat Randy Orton at WrestleMania 35, a match touted by many as the battle of supreme in-ring talents. He enjoyed quite a run as the United States Champion, a title he held close to his waist for 134 days before being beaten by Rey Mysterio. His reunion with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson resulted in a heel turn for Styles, one which has been appreciated by the avid WWE fanatics.

A host of Superstars have been recruited from NXT to the main roster in 2019 and if there is one performer who has impressed the WWE Universe the most then that man is Ricochet. The incredibly talented performer has been giving the fans dozens of OMG moments, thanks to his high-flying moves and vast skill set.

Ricochet has had quite the debut year on the main roster as he has faced legends, represented Team Hogan in the middle east, tasted gold in the form of United States championship and the list goes on and on. His in-ring attributes make him an asset to the Raw roster and 2020 might bring great things for the high flying Superstar.

#8 Bayley

From a dud 2018 to a superb 2019, Bayley has improved in leaps and bounds this year and all credit goes to her dedication. She now possesses impressive mic skills, an authoritative aura and last but definitely not the least, a personality of a champion.

The Hugger defeated Carmella, Dana Brooke, Ember Moon, Mandy Rose, Naomi, Natalya and Nikki Cross at Money In The Bank PPV. Bayley successfully climbed on top of the ladder and grabbed the briefcase and which guaranteed her a shot at the Women's championship.

The return of Sasha Banks too worked well in favor of the SmackDown Women's Champion as the two long-term friends have formed a heel duo and are being appreciated on the Blue brand. All in all, from her battles with Charlotte to her shocking heel turn, Bayley has been in the news and he reign as the SmackDown Women's champion is turning out to be immensely entertaining.

#7 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt may not have had as many in-ring appearances in 2019 as other Superstars on this list but there is no denying of the fact that the former leader of Wyatt Family enjoyed his most successful year in the company thanks to his newfound persona of “The Fiend”.

WWE Creative took their time with Wyatt as he was not rushed back to in-ring action. The audience liked the Firefly Fun House segments which made Wyatt's return to in-ring action a highly anticipated one. The Fiend, as we might say, is the current Universal Champion and holds the top honor SmackDown, having been drafted to the Blue brand in the recently concluded draft window. From Husky Harris to Bray Wyatt and now The Fiend, if there is one man who plays every character with his heart and soul then that man is none other than the former leader of Wyatt Family.

#6 Roman Reigns

The news about Roman Reigns' leukemia shocked the entire wrestling fraternity to the core and the sorrow ran amongst the followers all around the globe. Fighting with cancer takes determination and 'The Big Dog' is one hell of a determined lad. He defeated cancer and returned to in-ring action to re-establish himself as the top guy.

Amid all the feuds, brawls and reunions (yes we are talking about The Shield reformation), one massive achievement for The Big Dog came at Survivor Series when he became the sole survivor of the historic 5-a side traditional Survivor Series matchup which saw all three brands i.e. Raw, SmackDown and NXT lock horns. All eyes were on this match simply because of the massive buildup to the event and Reigns truly owned the yard and helped the Blue Brand reign supreme over their adversaries.

#5 Rey Mysterio

The Mexican Superstar is like a fine wine as he gets better with every passing year. His longevity has been appreciated by the avid fans of the company and it’s no secret that Rey Mysterio’s ability to deliver a 5-star match with almost anyone on the roster is still very much alive.

2019 saw Mysterio in quite a few decent feuds which include his storybook rivalry against Brock Lesnar. The way in which Mysterio stood up for himself and his family against the Beast Incarnate was something which earned him applauds from all around the globe.

Mysterio added yet another achievement to his CV as he became the US Champion for the second time in his career. Mr. 619 triumphed over AJ Styles and added one more feather to his cap. Though the title now rests on Andrade's shoulders, it doesn't hide the fact that Mysterio had a spectacular year. The world has seen a lot of high flying superstars but there has never been someone like Rey Mysterio, period.

#4 Charlotte Flair

2-time Hall Of Famer, Ric Flair is a 16-time World Champion and holds the record for most world title reigns alongside John Cena. The Nature Boy must be really proud of his daughter as she now holds the record for most world title reigns in the women's division with 10 being the current number.

The 'Queen' Charlotte Flair is one of the finest performers of her generation and ardent followers of the company will agree to the fact that Flair puts her heart and soul in the ring. WWE's Women's Revolution is a massive hit amongst fans and Charlotte can be rightly termed as a pillar of this Evolution.

Charlotte won the SmackDown Women's title thrice in 2019 and was involved in an intriguing rivalry against Bayley. Her recent feud against Asuka and Kairi Sane has yielded some entertaining moments as well.

Over the years, a plethora of Superstars have graced the women's division but Flair's sheer persistence and dedication make her a true champion in the eyes of many. May the Queen rule in 2020!

#3 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch carried her form from 2018 to 2019 as she set records straight and did something which no other woman had done as she won the first-ever all-women main event in the history of WrestleMania. Lynch made history alongside Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair as WWE's Women Revolution reached an all-time high. The Showcase Of Immortals has had a plethora of memorable moments and The Man's achievement at WrestleMania 35 will certainly go down as one of the most iconic events in the history of the competition.

Lynch is the longest-reigning WWE Raw Women’s champion and has held the belt close to her waist despite some incredibly tough challenges or shall we say, challengers. The Irish lass kicker has managed to defend her title against the likes of Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans and more which has, in turn, made the fans believe that The Man is one of the most dominant female Superstars of all-time.

#2 Kofi Kingston

The most memorable tale of 2019 was Kofi Kingston's historic triumph at WrestleMania 35 over Daniel Bryan. The Jamaican fulfilled his lifelong dream at the Showcase Of Immortals as he became the WWE Champion for the first time in his career. It is rightly said that those who prevail when the odds are against them are true legends and Kofi Kingston falls in that very bracket.

Numerous gauntlet matches, a plethora of disadvantages, and even Vince McMahon's disagreement with Kingston's credibility as a main event Superstar couldn't stop The Jamaican from reigning supreme at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Kofi-Mania drove the fans crazy as the WWE enthusiasts fell in awe with the New Day star's journey. Kingston held the title for 180 days, a period in which he defeated some megastars like Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens and more. His passion for the sport makes him a true ambassador of WWE and many aspiring WWE Superstars should draw inspiration from the Jamaican's stupendous run at the top.

#1 Seth Rollins

The Beast-slayer enjoyed yet another stunning year and dominated the main event picture for the most part. From winning the Royal Rumble to conquering Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35, Seth Rollins was at his phenomenal best which makes him the numero uno Superstar of 2019.

His feuds with the likes Lesnar, Strowman, Wyatt and more were immensely appreciated by the ardent followers of the company. WWE fans had been calling for a heel turn for Rollins and their wish was fulfilled by the company as the former Shield member joined forces with AOP against Kevin Owens and is certainly back to his villainous avatar.

His relationship with Becky Lynch helped him grab the spotlight on social media as well. So, all in all, Rollins was in the news all along 2019 and with his recent character switch, the same can be expected in 2020 as well.
