Another year is coming to an end, and with it, the end of a decade. It has been an interesting decade for WWE and its fans. The company went through various highs and lows. WWE signed a billion-dollar deal with FOX and struck gold with NXT. At the same time, there have been negative reviews from fans around the world, mainly because of poor storylines and misuse of some of the most talented wrestlers on the planet.

This decade played witness to some of the most memorable and historic moments in WWE history, and in this article I will try to encapsulate the top 5 memorable WWE moments of the last decade. If you think any other moment also had the potential to be in this list, feel free to write about it in the comments section.

Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship was an extraordinary tale of an underdog overcoming the odds and achieving his dream.

Even after 11 years of rigorous hard work, Kofi Kingston was still stuck in the mid-card and it looked like that he would never be able to hold the most prestigious title in the company. As it turns out, fate had decided otherwise.

An injury to Mustafa Ali before Elimination Chamber led to Kingston replacing Ali for the WWE Championship match inside the show's eponymous structure. The WWE Universe got behind Kofi and made their voices heard. They made Kofi the hottest Superstar in the company and WWE understood the sentiments of the fans and capitalized on the situation by pushing Kofi into the WWE Championship picture.

Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. It was a huge moment culturally as well as professionally for a man who has dedicated his life to the business. This was definitely one of the most memorable moments of the decade.

In July 2018, WWE announced that the first-ever all women's pay per view was to be conducted on October 28, 2018, and that it would be known as Evolution, a nod to the Women's Evolution that WWE had been carving out for a number of years.

At Evolution, we saw the best of past and present female wrestlers from WWE take the spotlight. The women took full advantage of the opportunity and put on a show to remember. It was one of the best PPVs of 2018.

Evolution proved that the women of WWE have a come long way and are ready to lead the company in the future. It was a significant moment for the women of WWE as they finally got the same amount of exposure as their male counterparts.

Furthermore, the event had some fantastic and gruelling matches which cemented the fact that the women can create extraordinary matches with marvellous storytelling. This was one of the most memorable and important events of this decade.

#3 The Pipebomb

One of the most infamous moments in WWE history.
One of the most infamous moments in WWE history.

CM Punk's 'Pipebomb' promo is one of the best if not the best promo of this decade. With this promo, Punk broke the fourth wall and blurred the line between reality and fiction. He also mentioned various other wrestling promotions like NJPW and ROH in his shoot against the company which no WWE Superstar had done since Matt Hardy mentioned Ring of Honor during his feud with Edge in 2006.

The promo was a real gamechanger for the career of Punk as it skyrocketed his popularity and created a huge buzz in the pro wrestling community. He became the representative of the disgruntled fanbase and cemented his gimmick as 'The Voice Of The Voiceless'.

WWE capitalized on Punk's popularity and made him the WWE Champion which further solidified his legacy.

It is fair to say that this moment has been etched in the mind of the fans and they will remember this moment for a long time.

This was certainly the most memorable and shocking moment of the decade.

While WrestleMania XXX had numerous standout moments, nothing comes close to Brock Lesnar defeating The Undertaker to break his 21-win undefeated streak at the PPV.

For almost a decade, the Undertaker's undefeated streak had become one of the main attractions of every WrestleMania. Almost all of the fans expected The Phenom to retire with his streak intact but WWE had other plans.

After three F-5s, The Undertaker could not answer the three count and Lesnar was declared victorious. The crowd and millions of fans watching around the world were shocked to their core as no one expected that an established superstar like Brock Lesnar would be given the opportunity to break the streak.

Fans still question this decision and some have even said that this was the biggest mistake that WWE has made in recent history. This is not the most popular moment of the decade, but it is certainly the most memorable.
