#5 Roman Reigns' return cost Big E his push on SmackDown

Big E was pegged to become the next big singles Superstar on SmackDown after Kofi Kingston announced that he would be absent from WWE for some time. Since then Big E has managed to rack up some big wins but still seems to be floundering in the mid-card.

As per Tom Colohue, Big E is still very popular backstage and was set to get a major push. He speculated that Roman Reigns' return could be the reason for Big E's push being dropped for now.

''When it comes to his individual push, I’m not sure whether this was initially the plan here. It was said in interviews that there was a plan and it was explained to him what that plan would be, but going forwards, it’s hard to see that what is happening now is really long-term planning. Now it could be that Roman returning threw a wrench in things as it as done for a few people but when it comes to that big Big E push, I think we’ve all been waiting for it for a long time and for me, this is good enough.''

#4 Update on Sasha Banks' injuries after the attack on SmackDown

Last week on SmackDown, former Tag Team Champion Big E and Sasha Banks were recipients of brutal attacks. While Big E was assaulted by Sheamus, 'The Boss' Sasha Banks was beaten up by her own 'best friend' Bayley.

it has been reported that Sasha Banks has been released by the hospital but has suffered some unfortunate injuries.

"WWE.com can now confirm that Sasha Banks has suffered a severe bone bruise in her knee and a compressed nerve in her neck following the brutal attack by Bayley on SmackDown. We can also confirm that Big E suffered multiple lacerations and moderate-to-severe bruised ribs after the backstage assault by Sheamus."

SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley is all set to address the WWE Universe after her actions last week. However, it is almost certain that Sasha Banks will not be a part of SmackDown this week.

As for Big E, it is possible that he may return this week and confront The Irishman for his unexpected parking lot attack on him.

#3 Reason why SmackDown's The Fiend will not get a match inside Hell In A Cell this year

There has been a lot of speculation on what the future holds for the feud between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. The Big Dog returned to WWE and won the Universal Championship in his return match at Payback. This ended the week-long reign of SmackDown Superstar Bray Wyatt.

Now, Roman Reigns is all set to face Jey Uso at Clash of Champions. Tom Colohue has reported that it is unlikely that a match between SmackDown Superstars Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt could take place before the Royal Rumble. He also stated that WWE doesn't want The Fiend inside the HIAC structure because of what happened last year in his match with Seth Rollins.

I would be surprised though to see it happen before the Royal Rumble. I think they want to keep The Fiend out of Hell in a Cell after what happened last year and when it comes to the Hell in a Cell, The Fiend is not really made to step into that particular match.

#2 Roman Reigns handpicked SmackDown Superstar Jey Uso as his opponent

As stated previously, The Big Dog will take on his cousin and former SmackDown and RAW Tag Team Champion - Jey Uso - at Clash of Champions. As per Tom Colohue, WWE gave Roman Reigns an option to chose his opponent as the Universal Champion.

He also stated that Drew McIntyre also wanted to work with his best friend Jinder Mahal before The Maharaja got injured. In a similar fashion, Reigns must have asked to work with his cousin on SmackDown.

"Not solely, but heavily influenced. Like many Champions who aren't in the midst of a major feud, Roman was encouraged to pick an opponent. You look at the reporting in this podcast from earlier in the year that Drew McIntyre wanted to work with Jinder Mahal. It's the same thing. I'm sure the discussion did take place during the period in which WWE was convincing him to return. So it may be an extra selling point for example, 'Oh, Roman, if you return we'll have you work with this person, or this person."

#1 Reason why WWE decided to split Bayley and Sasha Banks on SmackDown

The expected finally happened last week on SmackDown as Bayley turned on her long-time best friend Sasha Banks. The SmackDown Women's Champion gave The Boss a brutal beating after the two lost their match against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.

As per Tom Colohue, the reason for SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley turning on Sasha Banks on SmackDown was because WWE feared that it would be too late if they didn't pull the trigger now.

''I think there was a fear that it was just too late or it was very much becoming too late, so they just want to get it done. I am not aware that this was the original plan as it were, I don't know what the original plan was, I do know that they need a big match, particularly a women's match for Hell in a Cell. Last I heard, they wanted one big men's match and one big women's match, so this would certainly fill that spot, wouldn't it? ''
