Major backstage real-life heat between a top SmackDown Superstar and RAW Superstar has finally ended, a big WWE feud that could happen for Roman Reigns, and what the future may hold for Adam Pearce — these are some of the topics that will be covered in today's edition of the top SmackDown rumors that could have a major impact.

There had been multiple reports as of late that two of the top WWE Superstars do not get along with each other and had even said that they will not be working together. However, recent reports have revealed that the two men have buried their hatchet backstage.

This article will take an in-depth look into the issue and also talk about other big rumors related to WWE SmackDown:

#5 The Miz teases feud with SmackDown Superstar Roman Reigns

The Miz might be the only Superstar in history to be holding the MITB contract despite having already cashed it in once. In spite of The Miz facing Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles at TLC by cashing-in, he was given the briefcase back by Adam Pierce as the one who cashed it in wasn't Miz but his ally John Morrison.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, The Miz talked about entering the Royal Rumble and who he is going to target after winning. Despite being a RAW Superstar, The Miz claimed that he could be going after WWE SmackDown's Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

''Now that I'm Mr. Money in the Bank though, I can win the Royal Rumble and have the Money in the Bank contract. Cash in anytime, anywhere, on any WWE Champion. So I can go after Roman Reigns, I can go after Drew McIntyre. But then I get to main-event if I win the Royal Rumble and Royal Rumble is the one thing I have not done, I have not won the Royal Rumble.''

The Miz will create history yet again if he can manage to win the 2021 Royal Rumble by becoming the only man to ever hold a Money In The Bank briefcase as well as a Royal Rumble contract at the same time — both guaranteeing him a shot at either World Champion.

#4 WWE SmackDown star Dolph Ziggler insults Goldberg

Former World Champion and SmackDown Superstar Dolph Ziggler took a dig at Goldberg while answering a fan on Twitter. When the fan tried to draw a comparison between Ziggler and Goldberg, The Show Off was quick to shut him down and said that he was good at wrestling, unlike Goldberg.

Goldberg returned to WWE RAW last week and challenged the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre for a match at Royal Rumble. The last time Goldberg was seen in WWE was at WrestleMania 36 when he lost the Universal Championship to Braun Strowman.

Dolph Ziggler is currently one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions along with his partner Robert Roode. While this is not the first time that Ziggler has taken a shot at a veteran, this could be a set up for a possible Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler match in the future.

#3 Heat between SmackDown star Seth Rollins and Riddle ended

SmackDown Superstar Seth Rollins and Riddle have reportedly ended their real-life beef with each other as per Fightful Select. The two men talked to each other backstage at Survivor Series and worked out their problems with each other.

It was stated that the two men did not see eye to eye because of Riddle's wife's comments on Becky Lynch. Rollins had also stated that he has no interest in working with Riddle before their backstage interaction at Survivor Series 2020.

#2 WWE SmackDown Superstar Roman Reigns sends a warning to Adam Pearce

Last week on WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns helped Adam Pearce become the No. 1 contender for his Universal Championship by making him win the gauntlet match. The only possible reason for The Tribal Chief's actions is that he wants WWE Official Adam Pearce to get a lesson in respect when the two face each other at Royal Rumble.

The Big Dog sent out a message to Adam Pearce ahead of SmackDown, saying that he needs to 'shut his mouth, come to work and get an 'a** beating'. It will be interesting to see how the WWE official will respond on SmackDown and what fate lies ahead of Pearce at the hands of the Universal Champion.

#1 Adam Pearce to be replaced by another SmackDown Superstar as Roman Reigns opponent?

Dave Meltzer of WOR stated that there is a high chance that Adam Pearce will not be the final opponent facing Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble. He said that either Kevin Owens or Shinsuke Nakamura will likely replace the WWE official as Reigns' challenger at Royal Rumble.

"It could end up with Nakamura or even Kevin Owens against him [Roman Reigns] and it could change. I kind of think it will."

Shinsuke Nakamura had a strong showing in the gauntlet match on SmackDown before he was brutally assaulted by Jey Uso and Roman Reigns who wanted Adam Pearce to come out victorious.
