#5 Possible spoiler regarding the result of WWE RAW's Drew McIntyre vs Goldberg at Royal Rumble

A source of SportsKeeda has reported that the match between Goldberg and Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship will see The Scottish Warrior come out victorious. The main purpose behind the match is to make WWE RAW's top Champion look strong by defeating a legend like Goldberg.

The report also suggests that Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 is looking like a strong possibility.

A source within #WWE tells SK that Goldberg v. McIntyre at the Royal Rumble is what Vince McMahon wants, even though the creative team doesn't. Vince thinks this match will propel Drew to the stratosphere of superstars. Current plans are for it to be a one-off (Drew retains).

There had been a lot of speculation regarding Goldberg's return to WWE but it was being believed that the former WCW Champion will return to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

However, WWE had a change in plans and Goldberg returned for the first time after losing the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 on WWE RAW last week.

#4 WWE RAW Superstar Riddle's real-life conflict with Seth Rollins resolved

It had been rumored for a long time that Seth Rollins and WWE RAW Superstar Riddle do not see eye to eye. The former Universal Champion Seth Rollins had stated last year that he had no interest in ever working with Riddle.

However, as per Fightful Select, the two men have buried the hatchet. As per their sources, both men were amicable with each other during Survivor Series 2020. It has been reported that both men talked with each other backstage and resolved their issues.

Here is what Lennard Surrao of SportsKeeda wrote:

While Seth Rollins didn't look at Matt Riddle during the Survivor Series match, it was indicated to Fightful that both men approached each other backstage to discuss their issues. The report stated that the problems were 'rectified,' and they would be open to working with each other.

It is not clear what the issue between SmackDown's Seth Rollins and WWE RAW's Riddle was but some rumors suggested it had something to do with Riddle's wife's comments on Becky Lynch.

#3 Backstage politics responsible for making Ric Flair look weak on WWE RAW?

Last week on WWE RAW, The Nature Boy Ric Flair cost his own daughter Charlotte Flair her match by accidentally tripping her. The Queen had teamed with Asuka to take on the team of Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce. Throughout the match, Lacey Evans continued to flirt with Ric Flair.

While Charlotte Flair and Peyton Royce were the legal women in the ring, he tripped his own daughter which led to WWE RAW Superstar Peyton Royce rolling Charlotte up for a quick pin.

After the match, Charlotte Flair yelled at Ric Flair and ordered him to go backstage and never interfere in her matches again. Speaking to SportsKeeda's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo stated that this could be backstage politics trying to make Flair look weak.

"This is all backstage politics of making Flair look weak that they have been doing forever. But, at what point, Charlotte, who is a star now, at what point does Charlotte say, 'Ah, you know, I'm really not going to do that to my dad.' I'm really not making my dad look like a big puss on; yeah, at what point do we say that, bro.''

While this led to Charlotte being furious with Flair, it also led to Lacey Evans giving The Nature Boy a kiss on the cheeks.

#2 Backstage details on Goldberg's return on WWE RAW

As talked about earlier, Goldberg returned to WWE RAW last week in order to confront the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. The two men will be facing each other at Royal Rumble.

Goldberg's return on WWE RAW came as a big surprise to the fans and it has been speculated that the plan for Goldberg's comeback to put The Scottish Warrior over had been in place for a long time. However, Dave Meltzer of WON put an end to that speculation and revealed that this match was a last-minute decision by Vince McMahon.

The Goldberg thing, so Bill Goldberg vs Drew McIntyre is going to be the main event of the Royal Rumble. So this was decided on Saturday. So if you're wondering why Goldberg did all this buildup with Roman Reigns if he's going to wrestle Drew McIntyre and it's like, that is your answer. It wasn't a swerve.

Meltzer further stated that the intention was not to swerve the fans but it was just a case of creative having nothing else for Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble.

#1 Vince McMahon did not want WWE RAW Superstar Randy Orton

WWE RAW Superstar Randy Orton is a 14-time WWE World Champion today but Jim Ross revealed on his podcast - Grilling JR - that Vince McMahon wasn't always keen on signing the prodigal Randy Orton to WWE.

Jim Ross revealed that Vince McMahon had apprehensions about Randy Orton in 2000 due to his past and for his reputation of being a 'problem child'. The WWE RAW Superstar had been a part of the Marines before joining WWE but was discharged for bad conduct after going AWOL.

''He [Randy Orton] was, believe it or not, he was somewhat of a controversial hire for us,” Ross said. “Vince was the problem child that went to military school and Randy was the problem child that went to the Marines and got discharged. Big time [Randy Orton’s past was a problem for Vince McMahon]. '' (h/t: SportsKeeda)

It was Jim Ross who convinced Vince McMahon to hire Randy Orton as he believed that everyone needed a second chance and that Orton would rove his worth with time.
